So I just finished CAECO, and I give it a solid 4 for John Conroe fans. Caeco isn't my favorite character by a longshot, but she is interesting enough to warrant a book or three. Though, of course, the main reason to read this book is for the Metaplot, and in this regard, Conroe does a masterful job of advancing the plot while giving the reader a different perspective on the action. This series has gotten pretty epic in scope, and a book written from the perspective of street-level heroes was a nice change of pace. Overall, I enjoyed the book though it seemed a bit short for my taste. Although given the speed Conroe knocks out books, I can hardly fault him for not writting the next The Way of Kings.
