Review:
I found this book very slow and boring at times. I enjoy learning about history and even the presidents. This book was very long winded and I felt somethings were repeated over and over again.
The book starts out reading about Franklin Roosevelt and goes to George W. Bush. It seemed like all these presidents had very similar lives and yet different at the same time. Either they were poor or their mother was poor.
I probably wouldn't have read this book if it wasn't for my book club.

Who doesn't love a good fairy tale? Going from a grad student to a Duchess, meeting a handsome prince and living in a beautiful foreign land, Samantha Rousseau had quite the journey. I thought it was sweet and romantic, with a lot of humor thrown in too. I got swept away with every little girl's dream, although I don't think I'd say Sam shared that sentiment. But, like all great fairy tales, the happily ever after was worth it. I really enjoyed the writing, and I thought the story flowed nicely. All of the characters were great, including the supporting roles.

Posting from my phone now but will do the review when I get to my computer.

Review: This was a tale of dragon shifters from another realm coming to earth for their business venture and meeting the neighbor, Cess. It was insta-hate then insta-love for Prince Draken and his lady love. Crossing realms and dealing with dragon politics adds some action and conflict with human hating dragons. Some potential in the storyline, but fell short on the delivery. Not much communication between the H/h other than between the sheets. Writing is done in a "me Tarzan, you Jane" dialog style that just didn't work with all the editing issues.

Review: While I enjoyed Alice and Reese's story I think the suspense was overshadowed by their romance. I really liked their passion for each other but wish the suspense would have moved along faster the first half of the book. I loved Reese as a character but found Alice a bit too flip-floppy. She acted self assured and very intuitive but then she was the complete opposite when it came to how she interpreted Reese's affections. I don't know how she could have been unsure of how much he wanted her when he told her many times and his body's reaction to her was obvious. In that aspect I found her annoying. The secondary characters were pretty interesting also and now I want to go and read Trace's book from Foster's Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series even though I found the first book in that series only mediocre. I liked Pepper better than I did in her book which was a plus. I'm really looking forward to Rowdy's book.

I am probably one of the last people to read this series so I won't recount the plot. I love the Dark-Hunter world that Kenyon has created and now the focus is on the Were-Hunters who are just as intriguing. I enjoyed learning more about the Katagaria and Arcadian worlds in this book. Vane and Bride have incredible chemistry and their romance was very sweet and even humorous at times. The supporting characters were engaging with Fury being my favorite. I hope he gets his own story.

Review: FBI Agent Emma Monroe is called in to consult on a child abduction case in Charleston SC. Three blond hair blue eyed boys have been taken and the first two killed and the race is on to find the third before it's too late. She is assisting Agent Zack Armstrong, who is also a were. There is some attraction and light flirting, but it's all about solving this crime first. Really enjoyed this book which is a prequel to the Fallen Siren series. Emma is a Siren but that is really a small detail in this mystery as is Zack's were abilities. Great writing and storyline, which I discovered is a writing team including Jeanne C. Stein. Definitely continuing with this series which has all the potential of a good UF series.

I love when I stumble upon a book that totally sucks me in and is well-written, funny, character-driven, romantic and heart-breakingly sad at times. I laughed out loud at the humorous banter between the siblings, Will and Lottie, there was some truly funny dialogue. I held my breath at times for Zan...his pain, his sadness and awkwardness was deep. If you love a good romance, with some sex, great dialogue, classic literary references, poetry, you will definitely enjoy this read. Oh, and the Star Wars references were lots of fun also.

Review: This book took me a really long time to read. I didn't care for the female protagonist (Elizabeth) at all and hated when the storyline switched to her's as I was more interested in the storyline of Ravinia and Rex searching for Elizabeth. I enjoyed both of those characters immensely. The addition of a possible love interest for Elizabeth 70% into the book was shocking to me especially since she was a recent widow (like a 2 week widow). The jumps into 1st person narrative to differentiate the killer's perspective didn't flow well and I really just wanted to skip those paragraphs. The whodunnit came out of nowhere to me and felt jarring and almost ridiculous as it wasn't clear whether the killer and the protag. actually did have history or if it was a psychological hallucination of the killer because Elizabeth didn't remember them at all...not even a vague memory. And the conclusion in the last 3% of the book that finally wrapped up the prologue felt like an after thought rather than an actual part of the book. This was the 4th book in this series and I'm not sure I'll go back and read the first 3.

Review:
No matter how many times I read or listen to these books I just discover new things and loose myself in them. This is the start of the good versus evil. This is one of my most favorite books of the series. The characters grow and you start to see the strength they have in themselves.
I love this book because Snape has such an integeral part in this story. Draco also plays a huge part in this book. The turmoil Draco goes through. His father in Azkaban. The life of his family in his hands.
Now I can't wait to read the last book in the series.

I rarely reread books but I decided to reread Harry Potter for a buddy read in another group and I'm glad I did. It has been several years since I read the series the first time. I enjoyed getting reacquainted with the gang from the beginning. There are so many things I had forgotten. I loved Harry's discovery that he was a wizard and his introduction to Hogwarts, when he met Hermione and Ron and started developing friendships with them, and his rivalry with Malfoy. This series got better with each book so I'm looking forward to rereading the rest.

I've had nothing but trouble trying to stay interested in the books I've chosen lately. Dearly Departed which I originally chose for the HA but would have worked for the D shelf too was a total bust. I listened to almost an hour and just couldn't get into the futuristic Victorian setting. That's right, it's set in the future but has everyone acting like it's the Victorian era. It was just weird. Maybe if I read it instead of listening. Who knows? Also even though I like Jaye Wells' Sabina Kane series Dirty Magic is not interesting me but I'm going to try to keep with it for the D
So, I've chosen a couple other books for the rest.....

If I bail on Dirty Magic (which may actually happen) I'm going with a backup book that is a bit shorter so it won't take as long. That one is

Because I'm a week behind I'm using Charming for the HA title and I'm looking for a new CH.
All these books are NetGalley ones. Sorry that I'm 2 books behind....

The 2nd book in that series is written by Melinda Leigh, but not the 1st one, and it isn't 100 pages either.
