I don't think I had expected as much background story or that there would be so many different point of views. Maybe it's only in the beginning. But you really get to know the characters and I think it's easy to identify with one or more of them in some way.
Do you guys think King identifies with the characters himself... Maybe Bill?
I don't think I really know anything about him but this group of friends sort of remind me of the group of friends from The Body. Is this something you see often in his books? Maybe an ongoing theme.... dynamic between friends, coming of age?As I said it's been years since I read that one so I can very well be mistaken.
