Mia Zucker | 3 comments 1990s hardcover YA novel about an adolescent, selectively mute girl who was spending the summer at the beach. The typeface enlarges and shrinks throughout the book, like waves, due to the beach setting. At the very end of the book she reveals why she hasn't spoken - I can't recall the context/who she speaks to, but it reads, "'My father,' she said, 'he hurts me.'" I think there are references to dreams she'd have about different rooms in houses... ???
Hardcover, dust jacket was dark, I believe it was a photo of a girl's face, or half her face (I'm remembering that you only see one side of her face, as the other is not within the frame).
I'm dying out here.

Mia Zucker | 3 comments No :( I'm going to go to the library and see if maybe they can help me. The best shot I have is the unique way the font size changes. Thank you thought!
