ABANDONED. 1990s YA adventure - kids trying to escape bad guys in forest adventure course

Hello! I need help remembering a book I read in Australia around the mid-1990s (or no later than 1996). I know, vintage, right?!

My memories are hazy, but I vaguely remember the following details:

A gang of kids are spending time in a forest adventure course (possibly an overnight camping kind of scenario), and somehow stumble on a gang of bad guys. The kids have to escape the bad guys, and somehow incorporate the adventure course in their escape (eg. leading the bad guys into it like a series of booby traps?).
The cover has an image of a boy's hands hanging onto a zipline above a forest.
I have a feeling it was a standalone book, not part of a series...but I could be wrong!

(As I noted, I read this in Australia, so there's a chance it might not have been published in other countries!)

Grant, what skills did the boys learn in this adventure course? Who was teaching them? What tools did they have?

How many boys and adults on the course? How old are the boys?

Could it have been a jungle or definitely a forest?
