ABANDONED. Y/A fantasy book, girl was a skilled person with tools and fixing stuff, she lived in this area that would have meteor showers and people would raid the land after a meteor shower

The Mark of the Dragonflyshe goes out right after the meteor shower and discovers a caravan, inside the caravan is a girl and she brings the girl back to her house, some creepy old man knocks on her door and says that he is the girl's father but he isn't the main girl and the other girl leave they meet a boy something on a train happens but I don't remember exactly. [spoiler alert] the boy has some sort of powers that allows him to transform into something magical. [spoiler alert] I am pretty sure the main girl and the boy have a romance. {spoiler alert} the girl that was found in the caravan by the main girl I think ended up being some sort of android or robot, it was definitely revealed that she wasn't human or fully human, I think she was the king's daughter but I am not entirely positive. The main girl had a father but he went to work in the factories for the kingdom ( I believe this kingdom had an empire on some sort of metal which made it very advanced). I read this book around 2ish years ago because I checked it out from my school library. Maybe 2016-2018, the book seemed pretty new and the country of the story took place in a fictional place. I don't remember what the cover looked like and I'm pretty sure the author was a female. I read the book in English and it was published in the US
