They should have a request form. Most libraries do, so you can request title for them to purchase. They may not buy it, but you can give them ideas.

That's wonderful that you are rediscovering the joy of your library. I love just going in and walking along the shelves. I make at least one stop once a week ^_^. Hope you enjoy the books you picked up.

Maria | 6 comments My library reading tends to happen in waves, so I read a bunch of borrowed books around the end of December and only managed one in January! 🙄 (I also read a couple short stories from Project Gutenberg, but that's not quite the same thing as my local library, so I'm not counting them.) This wasn't the most productive reading month for me as a whole, but I feel pretty confident I'll be able to catch up on my goals.

1/24: The Midwife's Apprentice by Karen Cushman The Midwife's Apprentice

So glad you rediscovered it. It's my favorite place to just go wander around. I remember being in 6th grade and it was a really hot summer. we lived in Navy Base housing with only 1 window unit in my parents' bedroom. My mom would drop my friend and I off at the library and we would spend the day picking out books and reading in their AC. I think that's when my obsession with libraries started :)

I might give this a try, I haven't really read anything from that period other than when my son read the Magic Tree House book from that time sounds interesting

this is so what happens to me. that's how i keep ending up with multiple books in progress at one time, i'll be reading one and then get the notice another is coming due and it cannot be renewed because someone has a hold on it. Need to get better organized so I stop book bouncing :)

Do it! I haven't read it since childhood, but I remember liking Catherine, Called Birdy by the same author even more. IMO children's/YA historical fiction is a fantastic way to dip your toes into an unfamiliar time period.

preventing our renewal 😉
