To make this book a 3-month buddy read is okay for me since it is a very long book.

I’m 1/3 finished and pretty sure I’ll be done in December. Anybody want to read the knight of the seven kingdoms series starting in Jan? This is a prequel series of short novels/novellas. Each is probably 150-200 pages.

Ok i finished this one it was really long. A lot of story lines in progress in the series I sure hope George RR Martin can finish the series.

One subtle difference but very different in some respects is who kills Jon Snow. In the TV show the killers were people like Allister Throne and Olly both really hate Jon. In the book the main character is Bowen Marsh who really likes Jon. So the book version is much more traject. The book motivation must have been much more related to saving the Night's Watch whereas the TV Show was people taking out a grudge. There were lots of other differences between the book and show. Well in the TV Show Jon does come back to life and I think that's expected in the book as well so it will be interesting if Jon Hangs Bowen Marsh like he does the characters that hung him in the show. Martin has made some very public comments recently that he expects The Winds of Winter to be finished and published in 2020. Possible summer release?

Unfortunately he hasn’t but that doesn’t stop the fake news from taking anything as a clue and writing stories.
