I like Ian. He's tried so hard to be supportive of Kaeleigh and let her know that he was there for her no matter what. Kaeleigh kept shutting him out which was understandable. When you go through major life changing trauma it affects who you think you can trust in life.
I'll wait until I finish the book until I post here in depth except to say that I really like Greta; I also like aspects of both girls, even though obviously they're very flawed characters.
The mom was my least favorite--even if she was running away from reality she is still the adult (and parent).
My favorite character was also Greta, although I ended up liking Ian a lot more than I thought I would. I also ended up really liking Kaeleigh. My least favorite characters were the mother and the father.
I loved Ian, I wish there would be a guy like him for me! I didn't like the mom at all, although by the end i understood her position a little better. i mean, at the beginning i was like, "All this over a CAR ACCIDENT!?"
but now i understand a better
i guess i hated the dad the most. he was a dumbass throughout the whole book and had not even ONE excuse
Well my favorite character was Kaeleigh because I could really relate to her. If something like what happened to her would happen to me, I would probably act the same way so.And obviously I didn't like the dad, for all the obvious reasons!
I loved Ian. I mean how unusual for a teen to stick by someone like they are family. Most high school friendship are so fickle. Of course I really dislike the parents. Sad thing is a know someone (not directly) who is my age 30 and her daughter who is around 10-11 was molested by her grandfather. The mother did report it to the police who said they had no evidence. His word against his granddaughter's word. So the police did not arrest him and he is free to do whatever. What is sad though is that it was recommended she take her daughter to counseling and has done nothing of the sort.
I didn't have a favorite character. This was my least favorite Ellen Hopkin book just because I thought the book wasn't very believable until the very end.
I think the subject matter of this book makes it difficult to have a favorite/least favorite.I liked Greta and the Grandma. I thought Kaleigh had a lot of strength to endure what she did.
The father was disgusting, but I think I feel the mother was a little more so. Not because she chose to ignore the signs (which was bad) but because when it all came out, she continued to hold Kaleigh at arms' length--practically blaming Kaleigh for her ignorance.
