Carmela’s reaction to Sawyer’s kiss was very different than what he’d imagined. She felt like he used the kiss to just calm her down, taking advantage of her feelings, and it made her angry. Did you understand her point of view? Was it a reasonable assumption?

Laura I thought exactly like Carmela, that he kissed her to shut her up and it was a totally reasonable assumption. I would have been upset too.

He did it at a time when she was trying to figure out if he was reciprocating her feelings. Him denying his feelings made her feel used. I certainly got why she was upset.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments I thought he was kissing her to shut her up too, but it got away from him big time. He really didn't expect it to turn so hot so fast for both of them. Carmela had every right to be angry.

The way Sawyer should have handled it was to break the kiss, throw his arm over her shoulder and kiss the top of her head while taking her to get some coffee and explaining that Ethan and Marisol were just fine and what had happened, keeping it as light as possible. But, that probably would have ticked her off too.

That would have seemed a little brotherly, she would have punched him.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments There was no good way for him to get out of what he did. I really hated him for going radio silent on her after this. He really hurt her, badly, and he knew it.
