Emily Yao | 1 comments I believe the main character was a girl, who had to visit her grandparents large mansion, (something about a car crash) and it stated multiple times that it was near woods, which were always shrouded with mist. She would walk the corridors, which were always lined with paintings of people and scenery. I think she once wondered into a place where she found a painting of some chairs. I think at that time, 3 chairs had fallen down (I vaguely remember something about it representing the number of deaths), and almost every time she visited it, another chair fell down. (It is possible that her grandma was a thief, part of a club, but I might have mixed that up with another book, which is how they had so many paintings.)
Spoilers (I think) ahead
Eventually she goes into the painting, and sees the chairs in real life for herself. (I strongly remember something about a bridge, and possibly something about a river and a mysterious man.) She also goes into the woods at some point.
I read it about 3 years ago.
This is all I remember.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, it was an insanely good book and if you could help me find it again I would be so appreciative. Have a wonderful day!

You can "bump" your thread every month or so. This pushes your thread back to the top of the folder instead of languishing here on page 88 from two months ago where fewer eyes will see it. Get back in the game! Bump!
You can do this by typing a new comment at the end of the thread, or even by typing the word "bump."
Good luck!
