Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 1721 comments Yes it's fine you can move them out...It was more for a planning exercise than for real assignment/tracking

message 52: by Jill (new)

Jill | 3313 comments we don't need anymore OU in OUT. Let's focus on other letters we need

message 53: by Jill (new)

Jill | 3313 comments are we just winging the letters lol the ss isn't accurate. I think we should use it, but I'll stop if no one else is

message 54: by Claire (new)

Claire Chibi | 1826 comments I'm using the spreadsheet. If there's anyone who doesn't want to use it I guess we can update the spreadsheet for the stuff they've posted?

message 55: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 1721 comments Yes we can do that.

message 56: by Jill (last edited Oct 10, 2019 07:12AM) (new)

Jill | 3313 comments I just fixed the spreadsheet. Everyone is posting whatever they want. Its no wonder we arent winning. How it should be done is complete a whole board before moving onto another one. Unless you have a letter that really doesn't fit. The fact that we have 5 "OU" for "out" and ZERO "U" for "truth" is really dumb.

Please use the spreadsheet and post your book on there when you're done. Let's finish board 1, and then move onto board 2, etc.

It's not that hard guys..

message 57: by Jill (new)

Jill | 3313 comments To clarify, we get a bonus for every tagline we complete. Which is why that is the goal. Max points

message 58: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 1721 comments Thanks Jill. I'll use the SS from now on.

message 59: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 1721 comments So, you can only use the first letter of any word in the title or author's initials. You can also use groups of letters in a word if you have two or more letters together. Or, you can use a whole word if the word you need matches a word in the puzzle.

Some of the books in our SS are using single letters within a word in the title. I don't think we can do that according to the rules. Can everyone please check the SS and update your books accordingly?

message 60: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 1721 comments I highlighted books that need to be moved or changed because we were using single letters in the middle of a word in the title or author's name and that's not allowed.

message 61: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments I'm not using the SS right now because most of my reading is unplanned. But whenever I do post something, I try to fit it to the letters that haven't been completed. That doesn't work out for all the books though.

message 62: by Jill (new)

Jill | 3313 comments My reading is unplanned yet I can still adhere to the ss. Just sayin

message 63: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 1721 comments That's cool Quirks. I think I caught all the books posted in our SS now so I think everything is in both places at least for the read books.

message 64: by Jill (new)

Jill | 3313 comments I think I fixed the ss again. I will double check again later when I have more time. BELIEVE was misspelled, which is why we are lacking the E.

message 65: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 1721 comments Ah. Thanks Jill!

message 66: by Claire (new)

Claire Chibi | 1826 comments @Quirks I’m starting Neverwhere now! :D

message 67: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments I started it today too!

message 68: by Eesh (last edited Oct 13, 2019 02:47PM) (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments I wanted to ask, shouldn't we be getting as many points as we can out of every book (upto 10 of course)? Like, Dragonfly posted a review and she only claimed points for one letter when she could have gotten more.

I'm going to comment about the extra letters but I'll take it down if it's an issue.

message 69: by Jill (new)

Jill | 3313 comments Quirks wrote: "I wanted to ask, shouldn't we be getting as many points as we can out of every book (upto 10 of course)? Like, Dragonfly posted a review and she only claimed points for one letter when she could ha..."

I added mine to the spreadsheet.

But I did not see how the letters would work for Dragonflys post. Didn't add that one

message 70: by Claire (last edited Oct 13, 2019 05:04PM) (new)

Claire Chibi | 1826 comments Yeah Quirks, we should claim as many letters as possible. I mean obviously we should focus on getting the letters we need the most whenever possible, but there's no reason to leave points on the table just because we already have extras of the letters, it's only a loss if we're claiming extra unneeded letters instead of letters we need.

Jill is right though the letters you posted don't work with those books.

message 71: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments Is it because of the illustrations? Or am I missing a rule? The book is Reflection by Elizabeth Lim, yes?

message 72: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments Nevermind, I just didn't write them correctly. Edited the comment so it's more clear.

message 73: by Claire (new)

Claire Chibi | 1826 comments Ooooh I think I wasn't reading them correctly, oops 😂

message 74: by Jill (new)

Jill | 3313 comments Any U's in the pipeline? We can use some..

message 75: by Eesh (last edited Oct 16, 2019 05:32PM) (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments Since we can move letters around I was looking for some U's we could get. There are two:

1. Jammin Jenny - Drawn and Buttered by Shari Randall (Truth)
2. Jill - An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks (Trust)

I didn't check other editions for books though, except for the ones I posted.

message 76: by Jill (new)

Jill | 3313 comments Any I's? We would get a completion bonus

message 77: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments I'm over halfway through a book right now that has an I.

message 78: by Jill (new)

Jill | 3313 comments we need it in I want to believe

message 79: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments I'll try to post it by tomorrow.

message 80: by Eesh (last edited Oct 24, 2019 02:20PM) (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments Jill, I was wondering if you could move the T from your latest review to "ouT" or "There"? Since it'd take us closer to completing it for the third time.

message 81: by Jill (new)

Jill | 3313 comments When I get to my desktop, I’ll change it

message 82: by Eesh (new)

Eesh (quirkyopinions) | 7289 comments Okay :)

Hello Team Jersey Devil, I know we're late in the month but I have messaged Rebecca to ask if she is still taking part as she hasn't posted any reviews yet. Hopefully we'll hear back soon x

Hello Team Jersey Devil, I haven't had a response from Rebecca, so I'm assuming she's not taking part. I will be looking for a new team member for you, so I think we just have to cross our fingers x

Hello Team Jersey Devil , just to let you know that Carolyn will be joining you from the solo side of the challenge ☺ I need a few minutes to post the November/December teams, but then I'll sort it out for you. You can see what books she's already read on the solo thread here - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... if anybody wants to look at letters ☺

message 86: by Claire (new)

Claire Chibi | 1826 comments Thank you for your help Sarah!

Welcome Carolyn :D

message 87: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 1721 comments I'm reading Iniquitous right now - it works for I, TO and US

message 88: by Jill (new)

Jill | 3313 comments I did Carolyn's post for us.

Welcome Carolyn! We have a spreadsheet going on. Unfortunately no one uses it but me so I have been updating everyone's books, but feel free to use it!!

message 89: by Claire (new)

Claire Chibi | 1826 comments Thanks for updating with Carolyn's books!

I have been updating all my books in the spreadsheet almost every day though, so it's not true that nobody else is using the spreadsheet, just FYI.

message 90: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 2247 comments Hi. Put my letters anywhere. I hope it helps. I'm reading my last book for the month: Prom by Laurie Halse Anderson. This gives us the letters L, A, H. Thanks for letting me be in your group, even if only for a week. 🙂

message 91: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 1721 comments So I was trying to use the SS but it doesn't seem to match what people have been putting in the review thread. So, I looked at where we needed letters from the review thread and posted by letters there.

Feel free to move them around if you think you have a better plan.

message 92: by Jill (new)

Jill | 3313 comments yeah dont worry about it anymore. we lost anyway

message 93: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 1721 comments I think we should use our banked books to finish off this clue, and move the books we're still waiting to finish to banked books
