What name did you sign up under? I can make sure you are there.

Yes I used that link (the first one you posted on this thread), and I used my FB, which also links to my GR account, so it has my user name from here.
If someone's wish list is all linked to Amazon should we assume they only want books from Amazon and not another retailer like All Romance?
Ditto that, Shannon... I know I added books from amazon because it was easiest, but put a disclaimer saying any would do... maybe we could ask people to state a preferred format somewhere...
I added in my preferences that I use Calibre and buy from others besides Amazon. (To set the preferences, check message 83 in this topic - Sassafras answers my question).

I don't think so. I hooked mine up to Amazon but I don't care where I get my books from. I would send them an anonymous question through Elfster and ask.

Just to make sure since I've never done this before:I find a book on their wishlist that I want to buy them and then I go to Amazon and buy it from there and press "Give as gift" and then send it to the email that is on my Secret Santa's profile?

Yup, or from any other retailer. Just make sure to remove your name/email from the present on Amazon!

How do you do that? I've never bought anyone anything on Amazon except for myself (I'm selfish okay?)

It's very easy. Just follow the prompts!

@SueM - On Elfster choose "Groups" from the drop down menu in the upper left hand side of the screen, click on "Goodreads Gift Exchange 2014", scroll down to "Upcoming Exchanges", and the fourth line down says "Your Draw:" which you will then find your giftee :-)
I've never gifted a book from All Romance but I don't see how you can send the actual book. I'm guessing you have to buy Omni Bucks?
Shannon wrote: "I've never gifted a book from All Romance but I don't see how you can send the actual book. I'm guessing you have to buy Omni Bucks?"If you go into your library after you've brought the book there's a little present box icon that you can click on, you can then enter the email address of the person you wish to gift the book to.

Only last year's is there. Never mind, I'll try again next year.
My pick's wishlist all shows as purchased, there's a link to a goodreads shelf but it's set to friends-only so I can't view it!Help?!?!
@Meep - Send a friend request to the person on GR and/or send an anonymous email via Elfster asking the person what books they want, etc. Let them know that you can't see their linked GR wish list because their GR profile is set to private, and only friends can see their shelves.
How do you send the ebooks anonymously with Amazon? I've sent gifts with them before and they always showed who it was from. And I saw no option where you could change that. Also, if I want to send the gift via All Romance how can I be sure they have an account in order to accept the gift?

At ARe they will be able to create an account to claim the book under the email address you used to gift the book.
I made a mistake and marked my gift as "received". How can I fix this? I don’t want to send the wrong message to my Secret Santa.
Ok I am super new to this lol. On elfster where does it tell us who are person is? I've looked everywhere (I feel so silly not finding it)
@Michelle - I answered that question for someone else above. Just scroll up a bit, and you'll see how to find your giftee.
@Stella - Yes, in Elfster, messages can be sent anonymously. Just "Follow" your giftee (anyone you follow is anonymous to them), tap on that person's profile, click on the gray colored "more" bar, choose the option to "Send a Message", and it will give you the option to send the message anonymously.

Michelle, If you don't see anything on that page listing your giftee, then I would chat with Heather about it. Maybe there's a glitch in the system or some other problem?
I'm not sure. When did you signup? Did you use Heather's specific link to register with the GR Elfster group? I think the link was one of the first posts in this discussion. Also, the cutoff date to make it into the group was November 30th.
Michelle,Here's Heather's original signup link:
http://www.elfster.com/exchange/view/...
And, it still states the following:
"Names have already been drawn, but you might still be able to get in!"
**** Actually, I noticed (when I just logged onto Elfster) that there's an odd number (147) of people in the group; so, perhaps, it won't match you until another person registers? That could be the problem? ****

The gift that you bought for your secret santa? They won't see what you marked at received.

Received my draw (thank you!) but my draw has only added Kindle books, which I can't buy as gifts since I live outside the US... So I guess that means a gift card is the best option? (I can buy gift cards, lol)

You can buy books through All Romance and they can download a mobi file. That works!

Most of mine last year were Kindle on the wishlist, but that was just how they came from the search.
I'm still completely confused by Elfster, and I'm not even sure I'm actually signed up. I will mess around with it a little later, and see if I'm actually on there.

Oh good. Let me see if I can actually get onto the site now. It really shouldn't be that hard, but sometimes I find websites I'm not used to hard to navigate. Thanks!
