Astonish Me follows a second-string but driven ballet dancer who helps a Russian star defect, in the mid-seventies.

The Great Circle follows a pair of orphaned twins, especially the one who decides she wants to learn to be a pilot, in the 1920s - 1950s.

Love this author.

I have just started reading Aztec Autumn , the sequel to Aztec by the same author. This will be the second time. (466 pages)

I highly recommend both of the above mentioned novels for anyone who enjoys historical fiction.

message 4898: by Kerry (new)

Kerry Kennedy | 119 comments I have just finished Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover and That Time I kissed my brother's best friend b Julie Christianson. Both were brilliant books in their own way. Ugly Love shattered me but it was so beautifully written and the fact is that the Rachel and Miles story could happen to anyone. The second book was a cosy clean romance. Full reviews on my profile

message 4899: by Oliver (new)

Oliver Trusler | 6 comments Just finshed reading Roadworks by Stephen King as part of the Bachman Books. Probably been thirty years since I first read it and I barely remembered it at all.
I enjoyed it, possibly the best story in that collection.

I watched Naked Lunch the movie for the umpteenth time the other day so think it's time to revist the novel next.
