I just finished The Man behind the Curtain : Inside the secret network of George Soros.
The Road, a surreal desolated human existence, yet, a sense of realism hung in the air that I could not ignore.
I hope that you all will add Two If By Sea to your list! It's a spicy thriller that will keep you intrigued till the end! Would love to see how you all like it!

On February 4, 2023, I'm currently reading Look Homeward, Angel by Thomas Wolfe. I'm savoring it page by page.
I just got finished with Forever Theirs :Mistress, Book 3
I just finished my 4th book.
I was reading War and Peace but struggled because the book I got from the local library was printed in small letters . I gave up after four days. I am now into Half of Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Adichie. I have read her novel a few times now.
After what seemed like forever on the library wait list, I finally got my hands on Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver.I enjoyed it although I think some parts felt like unnecessary padding. Her political agenda was very obvious from the start. For me, the best part was Demon's voice.

Guarded Desires: Mistress, Book 4
I just finished book Book 5 Guarded Desires: Mistress Book 4
I read To Track a Traitor by Iona Whishaw It is an engaging cozy mystery set in British Columbia, Canada and Britian. My 4 star reviewhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Recently finished Curse Words by Charles Soule and Ryan Browne.Currently started/starting:
The Almanak of Naval Ravikant
it's both simplistic and insightful while not being overly preachy or pompous so far so unlike most non-fiction, self-help-y, life lesson books, I might keep reading it...
Ghost Rider
Just starting the current run of the series today so fingers crossed its decent.
Twig
Just finished. Lovely little fantasy tale that was waaay better than I expected.
Rowdy Roddy Piper: Monster Killer
It is exactly what it tries to be and it does it well.
I read Not the Ones Dead by Dana Stabenow It is book 24 in the series, which I recommend reading in order. Both my wife and I like this series and started reading it after a 1995 trip to Alaska. My 4 star review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Have just finished Franzen's "Crossroads" - a substantial volume but engaging and really at least three different stories intertwined. Definitely worth a look. Now on Alan West "The Life Inside" - the chief character is a prison teacher. Slow moving but also worthwhile in a different way an makes you realise how terribly our society treats some of its weakest members.
Read The Three-Body Problem bt Cixin Liu and reviewed - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5332621429
I read Animal Life by Auður Ava Ólafsdóttir; translated from the Icelandic by Brian FitzGibbon. Her novels aren't for everyone because very little happens in them. But I've loved everything she's written. There is a quiet, subdued, contemplative quality about them I find very appealing. This novel is about a midwife who discovers decades worth of her great aunt's writing in which she explores a wide range of topics, including the interplay of light and darkness. The setting is Iceland during the depths of winter, the darkest time of the year in Iceland.

I read The House of Unexpected Sisters by Alexander McCall Smith This is book 18 in the series and I have read the previous 17 books in the series. This series is comprised of books that you want to read with a relaxing cup of tea. There is little or no violence in these books. My 4 star review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
