I just finished reading Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi, and have started There, There by Tommy Orange. Taking advantage of these cold days to read some good books!
I've just finished Mary Trump's 'Too much, But Not Enough'. In the post Trump presidency several books about him and his role are now very cheap on kindle.
I just finished Carlton Mellick's Every Time We Meet at the DQ....https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
Just wow, lol.
I'm currently reading a big collection of book called 'Classic works from Female Writers'. Every eclectic, my favourite piece so far is an article that Charlotte Perkins Gilman wrote on her story 'The Yellow Wallpaper' and Luella Miller by Mary E. Wilkins Freeman.
Just finished Thomas Hardy's Far from the Madding Crowd - reviewed - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/3791026882.
Erica wrote: "My Family and Other Animals Some of the most gorgeous description I've ever read. Durrell is a brilliant writer."I read that a very long time ago. Decades) I suspect it's one of those that I should reread.
I've just finished and reviewed (here, amazon and my blog) The Taste of Ashes, Echo 2, by Kent Wayne.
I finished reading A Promised Land by Barack Obama, the Presidential Memoirs, Volume1,only a few days ago and i truly enjoyed it. My review was posted on Goodreads.Page count:768.
To make my situation more difficult, i have willingly embarked on reading Bleak House by Charles Dickens.
Page count: 1036.
It couldn’t get worse.
I read another Magda Szabó--Abigail. I thought it was ok, but it didn't have the same impact as Iza's Ballad or The Door.My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I am now wondering where my slim copy is hidden. Thank you for reminding me about The Yellow Wallpaper.
I am currently reading The Moria Pearls by Rosalie Oaks (Book 2 of the Lady Diviner series). I really liked book 1 (a really fun, witty and eccentric cozy mystery romance) and I am enjoying this second book as muchUpdate: Just finished reading this book! Although the tone is a bit more somber than the first one, it was still fun and keeps well the mystery almost until the end. A very enjoyable read. I gave it 5 stars

I have just finished Wartime with the Tram Girls by Lynn Johnson, a Net Galley read. The review is now available. This is one of those books for which I wish there were half stars available to add to the whole number. Anyway, I hope that people read the review as well as the star rating. Its a good read and deserves to do well.
I have just finished Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl. I can't believe I have reached this point in my life without reading it. Harrowing and uplifting at the same time.
Just finished Artemis by Andy Weir (author of The Martian). Gave it four stars in my review here on Goodreads.
I am currently reading the Gaslamp (also dystopian) fantasy "A conventicle of Magpies" by LMR Clarke. So far so good
Thanks, I will look it up. I am attempting to get my authored book read. How do I find someone to read and review a book I wrote and self-published on Amazon?
James wrote: "Thanks, I will look it up. I am attempting to get my authored book read. How do I find someone to read and review a book I wrote and self-published on Amazon?"Hi James, there are a couple of groups in Goodreads you can post in; ARC and book giveaways and reviewer's group. You will need to post a blurb. Also you may find reviewers that like your book's genre and you may reach out to them directly. I am knew to the groups, but they seem to work well and be active
I read Travels in Vermeer: A Memoir by Michael White. It is part travelogue, part memoir, and part art appreciation. I enjoyed it, especially his "reading" of the Vermeer paintings. He pointed out details I had completely missed. His appreciation for the paintings was infectious. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I am currently reading the latest book on the mighty Warren Zevon. It is entitled "Nothing`s Bad Luck" and is written by C.M. Kusins.
I just finished "Survivor" by Jane Harper. It was very well written and I felt I was in the midst of things. It isn't my favorite of hers, however but it is still over a 4 star for me. Her books are very memorable to me and I am waiting to "forget" some of the intricacies of each story so I may reread them a second time!
I am reading Love of a Lifetime by Joe Tran. Sensitive, heartfelt story taking place during WWII. It is my privilege to know this author personally.
I read My Soul to Take by Yrsa Sigurðardóttir. It's murder mystery that takes place in Iceland. I thought it was quite good.My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I just finished A conventicle of Magpies as posted my reviewhttps://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...
I read Jurassic Park last week (Wonderful story!) and just started the Lost World by Michael Crichton;https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8...
