Bill Lively (crabtownboy) | 3 comments Daughters of the Flow Fragrant Garden by Zhuqing Li. A memoir of her mother and aunt, on who lived in Communist China and the other on Taiwan. The separation was an accident in time. Her mother was visiting a friend on an island off the coast of China when the Communists took over China. She could not return and thus the separation.

Christine Hatfield | 234 comments I’m reading a book called Boot Camp by Todd Strasser

message 5268: by S.L. (new)

S.L. Rosewarne | 7 comments I'm reading Undoctored by Adam Kay which is very well written, funny (this is his coping strategy) but with underlying sadness. I wish significant members of the government and NHS would read this and actually act on his advice as he obviously knows what he's talking about but shines a light on the medical profession and it's potholes...

message 5269: by Richard (new)

Richard McCann | 104 comments Everyone should be reading Two If By Sea by Richard McCann! Especially since it's National Women's Month and the lead protagonist is a woman that proves her worth in a man's world and yet still holds on to what makes her a woman! Give it a read and let me know how you like it!

Both from the St. Antoni the Forbidden Colony Series:
These rip-roaring Western adventures, set in a steampunk universe brim with danger, romance, and mystery.
The Portal to the world of St. Antoni was illegal. Men and women who reached it were desperate to escape earth. Arriving Colonists faced an alien world with what they could bring in one trip. Once through the Portal there would be no help from earths advanced technology, and no return. With grit and determination, they created a civilization as different from the post-apocalyptic earth they left behind as Mars is from Venus.
