Just finished reading (for the 3rd. time) the Lord of the Rings trilogy (The Felloship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King) by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Just started reading (for the 2nd. time) After the King - Stories in Honor of J.R.R. Tolkien), a compilation of 20 short fantasy stories by 20 different authors. Edited by Martin H. Greenberg and an introduction by Jane Yolen.

I just finished and reviewed "The Seven Secrets," by William LeQueux. Written in 1903, the MCs were obviously patterned after Holmes and Watson. It wasn't very good, but the author wrote 150 novels in his lifetime, five in 1903 alone, you have to give him credit for that.

Colin Woodard's American Nations-- a History of the 11 Rival Regional Cultures of N. America. Very meticulous and detailed research but a joy to read

This is a toughie but more than worth the read -- I suggest you go slow to absorb all the jampacked info and research -- Colin Woodard's American Nations. It is totally blowing my mind b/c it puts into stark contrast what we are doing to ourselves.

I'm reading Galactic Guardians Box Set: Book 1 - 5 and I loe it. It is told almost in first person in a common character that the reader admires and understand immediately because he is no perfect even though he keeps winning. What I like most is the fight scenes are about the people and not about the action. I recommend this even though I'm not finished.

I'm still readig Galactic Guardians Box Set: Books 1 - 5 + Bonus Short Story by Jonathan Yanez. I want to say that Yanez has not let me down. Even in the fight scenes he never forgets the character and how they feel. There is always a touch of humor that is just right. This is a great series.
