I chose this book because I had read the first book in the series a long time ago and never followed up on it. Recently, I saw a movie for the first book, and that made me remember I should really finish the series. I thought that the plot of this book wasn't quite as good as that of the first book. I also thought that the character development was rather poor and quickly thrown together, but I was still entertained by the storyline. In this second book of the Maze Runner series, the remaining Gladers are taken to a remote building. After finding out that WCKD isn't done with them, the Gladers must embark into the Scorch, the most burned out part of the world from sun flares. They have to make their way through it, unaided, in two weeks. Along the way, the gladers encounter huge lightning storms and hostile humans plagued by the flare, a ravaging disease. If they make the journey, they will supposedly be done with all of their trials, or so they are told... I recommend that people who have read the first book in the series read this book next.
this has to be my favorite book. I never read the first book but i did watch the movie so the second book made sense. they never should have made a scorch trials movie though it was nothing like the book.
I recommend that people who have read the first book in the series read this book next.
