Clickers series buddy read (spoiler warnings)
Or join us for any other Brian Keene buddy read we set up :-) I have brought a lot of his novels on my kindle which I really would like to read.
I just read through the thread and noticed that you disliked the Horns movie Jonathan :-( I watched that Monday with my wife and I really enjoyed it. Made me really want to read the book.
Nice Mehmet. I'm glad you are enjoying the series so far. I couldn't agree more with your spoiler! I felt the same exact way!
The spoiler made me chuckle and I will get involved in more Keene Buddy Reads though I am a slow reader haha. My favorite book of all time... Darkness at the Edge of Town.
Oh! Darkness at the Edge of Town is sort of like a Levi book right? It has Nodens but takes place in a alternate reality? I want to read that one really bad as well. It should be part of the Levi buddy read we do in the future.
Do you guys have access to the Witching Tree. It was published in the book Is there a Demon in you (That is another Levi short story)

I finished Clickers two days ago. A great delight! Just posted my (spoiler-free) review:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...Off to Clickers II: The Next Wave in between thousands of review books;)
I have little resistance to acquiring books. I just purchased Clickers II: The Next Wave andThe Mall and The New Girl and Havoc and Immortal.
Proud of myself I am.
We all need to splurge sometime Mallory!I own probably 40 books I haven't read yet, but I plan on reading in the near future all of them.
Jonathan I also have loads of unread books that I am meaning to read. I think it's something all us book lovers have in common. The stack of "to read" :-)
If only I had just "40" unread:))) well, I have promised myself I will read as long as I live...can't be worrying about what books I won't get to.
I not sure the number of unread books I have either, I am in the process of decorating my house and will fix up my own special library. All my books are in boxes at moment. I am using my Kindle mostly, although have got some books I brought recently. I am reading all the clickers on my kindle though :-)
Oh. I haven't counted the ones in my Kindle! ;)There are still books that are about to be released soon by Brian Keene, that I plan to buy as soon as they are announced. Mainly The Lost Level and Hole In The Wall which should both be out in the next couple of months.
Combined with my digital library I own around 60 books and Kindle books that I haven't read at least, and I would say 20 or 25 of them are Brian Keene and J.F. Gonzalez books.
I should be able to finish the first Clickers tonight. Then I be on to the Clickers 2. What I like most about this book is the author honesty that it just pure pulp fun. Which is plainly is.
Hello cookies :-) yes we all are having fun with the clickers, although the poor characters in the book are not enjoying themselves so much !
Yes, but those characters achieve semi-immortality in the minds of fans and readers. Earlier today, I dug out my little external drive and emailed to myself whatever Brian Keene books are on it.
Very well put Mallory, it is so true, when you enjoy a book it will stay with you for a long time in your imagination :-)
I couldn't agree with all of your more. A good book will leave a lasting impression on you no matter what it's intentions are! I'm glad all of you are enjoying it.
It is sad Mark Williams passed away, but it's nice that they dedicate the book to him in the future volumes.
I don't know whether statistically it's the usual mortality rate--but we've lost SO many horror author's in just the last couple of years; and several have experienced health crises. Maybe I m just more attuned..

Maybe I m just..."It's not just you. Brian Keene and J.F. Gonzalez have been experiencing some terrible health issues. I feel bad for them and I will support their upcoming work and back catalog of books as I get some more spending cash to spend on their books.

I ask all of his fans to contribute by joining future Brian Keene buddy reads and reading their books in the future! =)
About Halfway thru the 1st Book (Re-Reading) Man I am still in wow about this book. The Gore and mayhem and so much more to come.
Mallory Heart wrote: "Oh my goodness! Such terrible news! My condolences and thoughts to his family and friends"As a new inexperienced writer I have a great deal of respect for J.F. Gonzalez. He was a good man who lived his dream and was a good friend to all who knew him. He will be missed by all, by his fans and especially his loved one. I'm thankful for discovering his writing and my prayers are with his family during these this grieving period.
I recommend that everyone read Brian Keene' s eulogy on his blog today--both beautiful, and heartwrenching.

How is everyone doing with the Clickers series so far? Has anyone finished the second Clickers book? If so what do you think of the series so far?
Creepy Pick.... Finished the first book and will be starting the second this weekend. The first time I read the second one I was on vacation at the beach. Haha of course I planned it that way.
That is awesome Adam. I have to admit that I now look at rain storms differently thanks to Earthworm Gods and Clickers.
Wow !....sorry I am so behind on this book read but got a hectic schedule at moment. But that wow is for clickers 2 this book is fun, never suspected it would turn in the direction it did. :-)
I've not commenced II yet-will tomorrow. Friday and yesterday I read The Three, which tremendously blew me away; today reading Revival; The Mall; and Asleep Without Dreaming.
Oh yeah. I love those references so much. =)The next one is even more full of the Labyrinth mythos. I actually wrote Brian Keene on Twitter how happy that made me.
Started Clickers and Zombies which is a totally different spin on the series. Where one to three continued the story line, this fourth book has some of the same characters from clickers (and The Rising) books, but from a alternative version. One of the Earthworm gods books makes a reference to these two monsters and alternative worlds where life is different. Mmmm wonder if there is another version of our world with a Mehmet doing something different on it ?
On another level (world) we have Jonathan living in the UK and Mehmet living in the USA. One of us is a samurai and the other is a pirate king. =)
Mehmet the Samurai :-) like the sound of that ! Jonathan your other version is certainly living in Central London ;-) near the Thames ready to get on your duties as the pirate king. Although maybe your near formal historical smuggling routes like Dover or Cornwall :-)
