All I can clearly remember is that one of the boys was terrified of his family finding out he was gay and he ended up telling them at a family reunion or Thanksgiving or something.

His dad asked for the peas and he said I like boys and the dad said "Thank you for telling me now pass me the peas before your brother puts them up his nose" or something like that.

I think the book was relatively new and I pretty sure it was ebook because I remember getting it from Hoopla and I never finished it.

That boy's boyfriend also had a girlfriend and there was a few years separation before they reunited.

I want to say someone's name was Simon but I could be totally wrong.

I don't remember the peas story; you might be conflating since that's a popular YA gay romance.

I am not sure if someone was named Simon or if I just think someone was named Simon. I think it was the dad.

I distinctly remember the peas bit, however it may not of been peas. Could have been something else.

- The boys separated for several years and the one with a gf had a kid
- the other boy had a different long term relationship
- the gf cheats and I think becomes an alcoholic
- it ended happily
- i think i may have imagined the peas story
- I want to say Simon was not the name of the person and someone may have been called Hugo or Henry
