Madeline almost seems to me like a little (view spoiler)[fairy god mother :') rushing to help out Jane when she forgot about the family tree project and taking care of Ziggy. this is a beautiful friendship.

I'm so glad Jane trusted Madeline and finally opened up to her - to anybody, really - about Ziggy's biological father. I'm sure this takes a load off Jane's mind, and hopefully she can move on now. I just hope Ziggy really didn't choke Renata's girl on orientation day! (hide spoiler)]

In my defense, work was very slow for me yesterday so I was able to listen to a lot of audio. And since then I’ve just been too hooked that I have to keep going! But a lot of the recent halters I’ve read were VERY short so that helps!

I’m glad that (view spoiler)[Perry is the one who died. I was worried it’d be someone I liked! But sadly I was like YAY that jerk died!! I mean... he caused a LOT of grief and all the characters are better off without him. Even his sons in the long run since he was teaching them (at least Max) to be violent!

I did NOT see it coming that Bonnie would have been the one responsible! Holy cow! Peace-loving, calm Bonnie. Good twist though! (hide spoiler)]

I loved this book! Definitely will be picking up more Liane Moriarty books in the near future! And now... onto watching the show :)

I was glad as well but then I though that (view spoiler)[it would be hard on the child/ren without their parent. Perry would have had years of counseling ahead of him and probably no contact with his kids. Even though he was violent (probably stemming from being bullied as a young child), he still could have recovered eventually. It would have been hard on all. The kids would have to be made aware of domestic abuse and know the forms and not to do it. (hide spoiler)]

It’s not actually what you said, but it’s in the top part with my comment! Sorry, I wasn’t clear earlier. So it’s in the part that is italicized that autopopulated as the “reply” to what I said. It was actually what I said that is the spoiler, which WAS hidden in a tag, but since you hit reply it posted my comment without the tag — hopefully that’s more clear. I’m awful at explaining things!

I was so shocked when (view spoiler)[Perry smashed Celeste's head against the wall, but I knew something was going to happen. She spoke against him, and of course he was having none of it. Why is he such a cruel man :( I really hope C gets away from him without any big problems - I would be scared to death if I was leaving him, but also if I stayed with him.

And Abigail!!! I totally get why she's doing it - what she says about being a privileged white girl - but omg!!!! Never would have expected anything like this!!! (hide spoiler)]

when we found out about (view spoiler)[Perry actually being 'Saxon' I was suuuuuper shocked, but from that moment on I kept having tears in my eyes. Renata saying she didn't see anything. And Jane and Celeste and even Madeline. Renata writing this beautiful email to Ziggy. Madeline and Nathan more or less working things out. Abigail moving back into her former home. Bonnie telling Celeste about her father....

but- Bonnie. who would have actually expected anything like this? but of course she didn't mean any of this happen! and my baby Celeste opening up and sharing her story. I'm proud of her <3 (hide spoiler)]

the way this was written, with such a crazy good twist, makes me want to read more of Liane Moriarty asap. I can't believe Kaley even 'knew' what had happened !!!!

I thought this was a solid 4 star read (I don't throw out many 5 star reviews), but so much happened in the last 60ish pages and I wish I could read the whole book again for the first time - I think I'll just have to give it 5 stars!!!

also, I wanted to watch the show anyway once I read the book, but now I honestly can't wait for this challenge to be over so I can get into some tv shows again!!
