Daniel Cheely | 4 comments Hi all! I have been invited to participate in one of the review rounds. I understand and agree that I should make my book available for free.

Question - How do I do this? I am new to publishing and the only free copy I have is in Microsoft Word. How do I make it available for epub format? or pdf for that matter?

Thanks to everyone!!!!!

Carly Ellen Kramer (carlyellenkramer) | 40 comments To save a Microsoft Word file as a pdf, just click on "save as" and a pdf file should be one of your options. :)

G.G. (ggatcheson) To be able to save in pdf with Microsoft word you have to have version 2010 or higher. 2003 doesn't give the option.

To make into an epub you can get the free program Sigil. It's not that difficult but you may need to do some search to fix some errors in your epub.
You can also use another free program called Calibre. That program can do almost any format (PDF, ePub, Mobi etc., however, there are often some minor formatting problems with it.

Mike Robbins (mikerobbins) | 551 comments I've been pretty happy with Calibre; it has the odd glitch but generally works OK. I also use it at work to prepare documents and reports for e-reader.

Hock Tjoa (hockgtjoa) | 946 comments Google/search "word to pdf conversion" for websites that will do it or software to download that will do it.

MS Word 7 can do it. No excuses ;-).

Daniel Cheely | 4 comments Thanks everybody. I have an old Word at home, but a 2010 at work, so I guess I'll have to save by book in pdf at the office.
