Thanks Sarah, I will look into it! :)

Casceil | 2728 comments I put spoiler tags in my earlier comment. Good point, Tasha. Here is a link to my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Stephanie I am glad you joined up, Melissa :) it is fun isn't it :-)

Sarah | 18550 comments buddy and group reads are great fun - I love them! I have found so many good books through this group by participating in them. They have helped me read books in genres that I don't usually read too. I always think that discussing a book with others as you read along can make you pay attention to what's happening more in the story - I make notes as I read so that I can comment on here - it's great when someone spots something different or that I might have missed and/or find meaning in that which I didn't. It also helps me to remember the storyline for longer too.

Melissa | 298 comments That's a great idea, Sarah, to make notes. I normally just skim over things that I may not quite understand, but I think the more Buddy Reads I do, I will get used to looking things up to discuss them :)
Anything to help me focus more is a good thing hehe

Stephanie Agreed, Sarah :-) I read so many books that sometimes I lose track of what happened in which book. It is nice to go back and look at all the comments to remember what happened along the way :-)

Sarah | 18550 comments Another reason why I make notes (and mark them with chapter number) is I'm always concerned I'll forget which bit related to what chapter and I'll reveal a spoiler. I hate stumbling on spoilers (unless I'm purposely searching them out).

That is a great review and I put the other book you mentioned in the review about science fiction on my TBR.
I really liked the nostalgia in this book..
It really relates to a lot of people which is great, on our way to Toronto I played some of the book in the car for my husband to hear and it is neat how he laughed at some of the references, he is also going to read it now since I keep talking about it, and actually might even listen in the car.

I put it on my ever growing list too,:) I have over 1000 books on my TBR and I just joined this site in February

Holy Crap Tasha! I have been a member of goodreads for years and I have like 90 some books on my TBR shelf...size doesn't matter, right? ;)
I added Among Others on my TBR too, I copy you! ;)

Stephanie I'm with you two! Tasha that is an impressive TBR amount! I only have 179..which I'm trying to dwindle down but have been adding more and more books which isn't a bad thing :-)

I know that feeling. I created a "maybe" shelf and periodically I go through my "wishlist" and move stuff across to there if things no longer appeal to me.

Mariab | 3059 comments I was wondering (reading all the post about movies related to games) did any of you know a film named "eXistenZ"? Has to do with a live game and is quite a story too...

Stephanie Haven't heard of it:-)

message 167: by Sarah (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sarah | 18550 comments I watched it Mariab - it was quite strange from what I remember of it- it's been a while since I saw it though.

Esther (nyctale) | 5191 comments I finally got a hold of my copy. I am having so much fun. The 80's where High School year for me. I am younger than Halliday but not so much as it makes a difference.

I am almost temped to go to my parents and see if my intellevision console (I am sure it still in the back of a closet there) still works.

I am at chapter 9. I have not read anything form this thread yet but I will start reading message soon, after I do some boring grown-up stuff.

Stephanie It is such a fun book! I loved all the 80's stuff as well! I think we have an Atari somewhere :)

I think your comment about the conexion with Peter Pan is right
the story reminds me of a movie (kind of horror movie), with different stories, one of which was about a kid with paranormal abilities, who could make real, everything he did imagine (I can't remember the title)
