OK, for the new timers :)
Don't worry. You have great teammates. And we also have a few weeks to get used to the idea.
Plus, one of the reasons for having "element mentors" is to keep a closer look at the teams and be quicker to help in case of need. Is easier to focus only to 2 or 3 teams than on 16 at once.
That is true Sonia! Hopefully someone will stop on by....is it okay for me to go onto other team forums and ask?
Well for my own buddy read I was thinking it would be good to do a series together- that way we can kind of move from one book to the next pretty quickly.

Sure, you can go to other teams and chat (as you can see ☺)
Best way to find buddy readers is here
Well, to be honest, I love the classics and all epic fantasy, but part I joined these reading challenges to try to open myself up to new genres. So I'm pretty much game for anything! What about you?

The goal is to get to 20000 points.
How?
Reading - simple as that. Read as much as you can. Being around the thread helps keeping you motivated, and also allows for interaction.
Since books can be quite different, we get points according to page length.
We also get extra points for reading (and participation) on the book of the month discussions, and for buddy reads.

Yes. The books you read for the challenge go there. Is easier to track. You can pre-plan, or just put them there. Something really important is the finish date. As long as it has one, we'll count the book. Make sure you also use the closest edition to the one you have read, so we can count the page numbers. If the book doesn't have the page info, just let Logan know.

Help!!! Hobbits consorting with Elves!!!!
What is next? Dwarves and Elves?

Thank you Sonia! A few more questions: After we finish a book, how do we take credit for it - do we post it in our team thread? If I listen to an audio book, do I just use the "default" paper version on GR for page count? And if we participate in buddy reads, do we need to post that somewhere to so the team gets points?
Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure I do things correctly! :-)

What is next? Dwarves and Elves?"
Nope, no dwarves this time. Besides they've already done that. :P

Logan, honey, feel free to kick me out any time, OK?
For taking credit, as long as you have it on your challenge shelf, with a finish date, it counts.
However, I always encourage to post it on the team thread - it helps knowing you didn't disappear, and who knows, chatting about it makes another member discover a new favorite, or to try something new. Of course, this is my opinion as team player, you'll do what you feel is best for you.
For audiobooks, if its easier to use the "default" paper version, go ahead and use it. Same as for ebook versions without page or word count info. Remember, we need a page number to give the books the proper points.

Oh, and better let Logan know, since she's the one keeping track *grins*
Just say it here.
Is easy. Just read, have fun, and chat :)

Taryn - I have some series that I want to read. I can't link because I'm on my phone, but when I'm home I can see what you've already read and compare our TBRs. :) I just started The Hidden Ones (you can check out my currently reading shelf) and it's pretty good. I also want to read the Unwind series and a couple others.

Be still my heart
Sure! I'm the queen of the series thread. Just remind me closer to November 8. Meanwhile I'll check with the evil masters behind the scenes, how those can count for points. Worse case scenario, we'll break it.

Me! Me me me me me!!! I'll be watching the request thread, but feel free to give me a shout or pop into the Witches on the Bayou team! I read a variety of genres so don't let my shelves scare you away. ; )

OK, I need to be on my way to work in 8 hours... so time to sleep :)

Hey now, why is it fishy? I don't see nobody saying Tea and TC together as fishy. Or you and Logan.

It would be AWESOME!!!
But, this way we can do lots of buddy reads :D

Main thing is to read and post it with a finished date to your specific Tower Team shelf and post it here as well.
Where is everyone from, what do you do (besides read cuz duh - that's a given :D)
I'm from the Chicago suburbs. I work at a nursing and rehabilitation center. I have two teenage kids - one of each a high school son and a middle school daughter. I would rather read than watch tv - drives hubby and kids nuts but I can sit by them and read while they watch tv,lol.
I love romance, thrillers, suspense and sometimes mysteries. I'm trying *cough cough* to complete many series that I've already started ...somehow new series keep making it to my tbr shelves, lol. I've recently started reading MM books with the help of my buddy reader Ezi. I'm in a challenge til the end of the year that requires me to read at least 10 a month. I kind of feel like I'm OD'ing on MM at the moment.....oh well - pretty sure I won't be signing up for this particular challenge next year ....man the fellow GR'ers in this challenge are hard core...I'm just saying

You were an AWESOME pirate.
Specially when I was all shy posting things like cut&run, sticks & stones and you started screaming: TY&ZANE! TY&ZANE!! I melted....

Yay! Thanks, Sonia.

@ Sarah - Yes, we definitely seem to have a chatty group, which I love. :)

Yess!! We are a chatty group! Sorry I disappeared there for a hot minute. But yes, to all of those that snuck in...I am going to the thread to check out buddy reads. And for those of you on my team that want to read a series together or something, feel free to PM me too. This thread is getting a little long LOL
Thanks Kristie :) Do we put all the shelf links up on the group's first page?
Lol Kristie...I am entirely too pumped about this challenge....I hope I can really amp up my reading just to further the forces of darkness.
Also, I was going to ask...anyone doing any individual reading challenges they want to talk about? I have so many going.....it's almost sad.
I think I am a sucker for challenges. I am also a part of this Harry Potter weight loss challenge on MyFitnessPal because I feel like being part of a team somehow makes me just want to do better. lol Sometimes I wonder where I'm getting the time to you know..sleep, eat, work...the things normal people do.

Thanks Sonia for helping to field questions. I will never tell you to leave. In fact, you can't leave. You sit your butt right down there, missy, and don't move until I tell you. :)
I will add all of our team links to one of the reserved posts on the front page tomorrow. It's been a loooong day so I have to sleep soon before I fall over but I wanted to pop in and say hi.
I'm very excited about buddy reads being a part of Tower Teams this round. I think I'm going to get a lot of books read that I normally don't make time for, simply because people are reading it as a group.
Kristin, I am a huge YA fan, but haven't read much lately because like Melissa I'm in a group challenge for M/M books that is eating into all of my reading time, BUT I did just read Of Metal and Wishes for book club and It. Was. Amazing. It's like a steampunk retelling of Phantom of the Opera but in a slaughterhouse. Seriously, great book.

Becky!!! Love seeing so many friends popping in. :) :) :)

My name is Jenn. This is my second Tower Team Reads. Last go round I was on team Radical Red. I work full time managing two urgent care clinics. I graduated college in May and I got married in June. It's been a very exciting year for me. For fun, I read, hike, and go to the gym. I'm getting into Buti yoga, and doing high intensity training with the plans to do Tough Mudder 2016...this is all kinda new to me, as I haven't gone to the gym for years prior to starting this training. Reading wise, I love a little of everything. Right now I'm into dark messed up mysteries like the Gillian Flynn books...but I also like ya, urban fantasy, cozy mystery, memoirs, etc. I'm very excited for this challenge, and have been anxiously awaiting the next installment since TT2 ended.

"
Logan that sounds amazing! I'm adding it to my to be read shelf.
