Kristie | 3595 comments I've only read 4 books, but I'm reading like a banshee for me!! lol Loving every minute of it.

Kristie | 3595 comments Have a great week with your family Kristin!

message 603: by [deleted user] (new)

Just finished HP and Prisoner of Azkaban! Now I am desperately trying to catch up reading Outlander, The Gunslinger, The Eye of the World, and Moby Dick. I mayyyy have just done too many buddy reads for November...lol

message 604: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (engelsigh) | 1339 comments Have fun with your family Kristin.

I'm currently reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, One Foot In The Gravy and I just bought Big Little Lies which is on sale for $2.99 on Amazon kindle.

message 605: by Kristie (new)

Kristie | 3595 comments Big Little Lies was great, Jenn. Hope you love it!

Lol, Taryn! I think we all got a little overzealous with the buddy reads. I'm swamped until March! So many good ones.

message 606: by [deleted user] (new)

Kristie, I need to look at ones past January....I am trying to take less on in that month for whatever reason, but then I'm gonna hit the BR hard afterwards if the contest is still going on.

message 607: by Kristie (new)

Kristie | 3595 comments I think I have four scheduled in February. Definitely check them out!

message 608: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ @Kristin - have a fabulous Thanksgiving week :)

@Taryn - I think I'm in your boat with you for buddy reads - my list keeps growing - just not many this month. Lots next month. Hopefully I can keep up. :D

@Jenn - hope you enjoy it! I had to read for RL bookclub and we are finally getting together this Fri to discuss - I'm looking forward to see what they all thought.

My week was very hectic and didn't get a ton of reading done like I wanted to. It was my daughter's birthday this last Sat. I now have two teenagers. Yikes. I'm hoping to get more done this week but with Thanksgiving this week, my son's wrestling tournaments are starting and my Uncle passed away so we're having a Memorial for him. I'm not sure how much I'll get done. I'm gonna need some alone time at some point with a good book, lol

Logan (loganturner) | 1643 comments Hey everyone,

So apparently the official rankings don't get pulled from our handy spreadsheet and I have to update the official spreadsheet to get our total in there. Sorry for my misunderstanding. I've updated it except that for some reason it won't take Melissa's BR points. I'll talk to the mods about it.

Our ranking is therefore a little low this week since not all of our points were in there.

message 610: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ Logan - do I need to link them different or should I have a TT buddy read shelf?? Let me know if I need to fix something :)

message 611: by Logan (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 1643 comments No, it's nothing to do with you, don't worry! It is supposed to pull data from one sheet by matching your name but it isn't for some reason. I brought it to Kelly's attention so hopefully she can figure out how to fix it.

ok - thanks :)

message 613: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (engelsigh) | 1339 comments Oh my, Big Little Lies....not what I expected at all. I liked it very much. Are all her books like this?

message 614: by Kristie (new)

Kristie | 3595 comments I've only read that one and The Husband's Secret, which was similar and I liked it a lot. I liked Big Little Lies better, though.

message 615: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 3273 comments Hilary - I finally got The Midwife's Confession by Diane Chamberlain . Let me know when I should have the BR set up. When do you wanna start?

I'm planning to read The Husband's Secret in Dec and then What Alice Forgot in Jan. Hoping they are just as good.

Hilary (bookboss) Sarah wrote: "Hilary - I finally got The Midwife's Confession by Diane Chamberlain. Let me know when I should have the BR set up. When do you wanna start?"

I just checked it out. I am working on a book right now and have one more checked out that will be due first. I will start asap but will most likely be more than a week away.

message 618: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 3273 comments Just tell me the date and I will have the thread set up. Hope it is good. I enjoyed two other books by this author.

message 619: by Hilary (new)

Hilary (bookboss) Me too! I might add narration so I can work through it notes quickly. I could start the narration on Dec 1, so we could start the thread then of that works for you?

message 620: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ Currently reading - hope to finish most by the weekend:

Cut & Run (Cut & Run, #1) by Abigail Roux Buddy read - this is a re-read for me. I'm loving to see Ty and Zane at the beginning again :)

Catch Me If You Can (Romano and Albright, #1) by L.B. Gregg Natural Law (Nature of Desire, #2) by Joey W. Hill Dirty Laundry (Cole McGinnis, #3) by Rhys Ford

Kristie | 3595 comments I'm currently reading Accidents of Marriage by Randy Susan Meyers and not loving it. The characters are just not people I would like. So far, it's not what I expected at all & it's a bit slow.

Also, still reading The Hidden Ones (Legacy of the Watchers, #1) by Nancy Madore , which is really good. Just taking me a while, as it is my night stand book.

Starting the buddy read of Shift (Silo, #2) by Hugh Howey in a couple days. Really looking forward to it.

How's everyone else doing?

message 622: by Christine (last edited Nov 25, 2014 07:15PM) (new)

Christine | 0 comments I started The Bell Jar buddy read, and I'm also reading All the Light We Cannot See.

message 623: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 3273 comments Oh, I am behind in my BRs - need to start The Bell Jar and hopefully be ready for Shift - I might be late to that one too.

Glad to hear it! It should be fun, since it is a buddy read. Plus, I'm looking forward to getting back to the story...well, actually, I think this one is the backstory, but that might be even better.

message 627: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ Yay - I finished one of my books. Work and RL have been hell on my reading time this week lol

Catch Me If You Can (Romano and Albright, #1) by L.B. Gregg - this is my first by this author. Fun quick read with lots of quirky characters

Great! I look forward to hearing what you think of it.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody...I am having two dinners because my family always has a seafood related Thanksgiving one day (yum, oysters!) and then a regular one the next.

message 642: by Logan (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 1643 comments Welcome Celine! I'll get you added to our spreadsheet soon. Thanks for posting the books you've finished to the posting thread. I hope you'll have fun with us!

message 643: by Cee (new)

Cee | 39 comments Thanks Kristin! I've played in a Book Bingo before which was awesome, and I loved the idea of the Tower Teams.

@ Logan, whew, I'm glad I posted my books in the right place. Is there anything else you need from me? I also made a shelf for the challenge called tower-team-challenge.

message 644: by Logan (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 1643 comments That's it for now. Glad to have you on board!

Sarah | 3273 comments Hilary - our book is set up for our BR. I will start when you are ready. I will look for you there. We still have a few days. I am trying to finish my other audio book first.

message 646: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished Outlander. Liked the writing a lot better than I thought I would, though I am not completely sold on the story yet. I think the first book of most series are for the author to get in the groove, so I am definitely going to continue on with the series. Especially since they are pretty fast reads and tons of pages ;)

I also realize it takes me about a half hour to updated my challenges after I've read a book. Might be a sign to stop joining them! Pshht yeah right.

I finished Outlander this month, and really liked the writing too. The characters didn't work for me though. Hope you like the other books in the series :D

message 648: by Logan (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 1643 comments I love the Outlander series, and I desperately need a reread of books 2-6.

I can completely get that. I started out hating Claire, but kind of liked her at the end. I mean, she has a lot of balls. I respect that lol And Jaimie, in some ways, reminds me of my ex....the red hair, the temper, the small moments of insight LOL But other than that, I dunno.

Join our buddy reads! I think we're gonna do the whole series :)
