Actually, I think we should/could go for YELLOWED as the next word. It's the only 8-letter word we got, I think :)
We have a good start on it YE_ _ O _ _ D
So Ls, E & W would be all useful.
Of course, books can be moved around to fit. :)
I've got an E incoming - author of Station Eleven.
I've also started Two Can Keep a Secret but I may not get that done this week as I may focus my attention this weekend on Shades of Wicked as I need to get a move on with my Bingo books hehe. I've fallen behind with my lack of reading time.

We only need an E for "Yellowed" and then we can move onto another word. :)
and we read 23 books.

I didn't get to read as much as I would have liked this week, but I'm almost done with Chestnut Man/the discussion questions.

It is Mini Challenge Time!!
Next week's mini challenge is all in the light of Gluttony.
You can read up more on the rules here.
As per usual, read carefully and if you have questions, feel free to ask.
This one will require coordination!!

I had to read Snow Falling on Cedars for my final year in school and I do not remember liking it. In fact, I don't remember very much of the book other than that we also went to see the movie, a few of us together, and cringed most of the time.
Sometimes I wonder if I should pick it up again to see if it was just the fact that I had to read it for school or if I really didn't enjoy it. There was someone famous in the movie as well... might have been Ethan Hawke? But not sure now without going to Imdb to look it up ;-)

Well, since I was planning on reading Shades of Wicked anyway, I could read that for #1.
And then the team could slowly work itself up the ladder.
However, you'd have to wait for me to finish my book before you can finish yours, which in theory shouldn't be an issue, and I promise to be quick about it ;-)

I'm also off work Thurs-Sunday of next week, so I'll have extra reading time!
Oh, nice! Bring in the big books to compensate for that 3k anthology some teams are reading ;-) Or we'll fall massively behind - we're currently in 4th place but with 4k less points than the leading team, soooooo.... ;-)

So time and speed are needed if we want to get many rungs on the ladder. I will take a look at what series I've got but will generally read anything.

What 3k book 🤔 We can read it as well 😎

Glory in Death #2 - 416 pages
Three Bedrooms, One Corpse #3 - 240 pages
In Big Trouble #4 - 309 pages
Summoned to Thirteenth Grave #13 - 304 pages
Queen of the Flowers #14 - 275 pages
Death of a Liar #30 - 272 pages
Fit me in where you need me. Except for next Tuesday/Wednesday, I can read any day, so I'd be better with the lower # in series, or higher # (depending on how far we get by Wednesday night).

I can break out all my Stephen King books instead of focusing on the mini-challenges..
The Stand - 1,153 pages
It - 1,116 pages
Under the Dome - 1,074 pages
Four Past Midnight - 930 pages
Insomnia - 890 pages
11/22/63 - 866 pages
Nightmares & Dreamscapes - 816 pages
Let me know if you'd rather I read big books instead of series # next week, and I'll try to get at least two of these done.
ETA: The Stand and IT

Redesigned #2 - 295 pgs
Dagger's Edge #2 - 304 pgs
Sink or Swim #3 - 178 pgs
The Enforcer #3 - 506 pgs
Queen of Air and Darkness #3 - 912 pgs
Until Nico #4 - 247 pgs
Conqueror #5 - 579 pgs
Fatal Frenzy #9 - 384 pgs
Once in a Lifetime: Lucky Harbor 9 #9 - 353 pgs
The Darkest Craving #10 - 480 pgs

If the Gluttony Mini is appealing to you, go for it! :)
However, in general I would say, reading big books will bring us much more points on the long run. I just told E. that personally I will concentrate on doorstoppers for next week rather than books with much smaller page counts in a series. :)
As for the 1k or 3k books - bring them on, Ladies!!!
That being said, I started listening to

I also started

We already have _ L T_R_D
WE need an A & 2 Es for that.

I'll do the same!

I am tempted to go along with it as well.
As I'm from Hungary, unfortunately I don't get KU, but 6,30 USD is quite a good price for a 3k book, so I might buy it. :)
As I have a free weekend, I think I'll be able to finish another 800+ book,

Beware though - from some of the ratings I've seen, the stories aren't brilliant. Lots of 2 or 3 stars which makes it an even longer book if the stories aren't worth it.
Just thought I'd put that out there before you all go throwing out money for it - those of you who do not have KU.
