I've been nervous about reading this book, I'm curious to hear what you think of it.

Melindam | 8525 comments There is an UPDATE on COLOUR COVERS in my earlier post.

Please note that the use of Tineye has been officially banned from this challenge.

So it is

Step 1: use your eyes/commonsense
Step 2: when in doubt, bring it to E. and me and we consult the Captains' group.

New bookshelves... AHHH! :)

I actually have a few bookshelves, each dedicated to my favourite authors (Jane Austen & Terry Pratchett). My husband looked at me weird when he first saw them (we were still going out then), BUT now he know better. :D
After a while he even started to have dedicated bookshelves for his favourite genres. :)

Thank you, Jenny. I noted it also in our BOM table. PLUS, Wilder Girls by Rory Power will also work for sin bingo Envy, so YAY!!

Melindam | 8525 comments Dear Team,

At the beginning of our thread, I have set up a
recommendations comment
with books that could work for SIN BINGO.
If you have other book that could work, just let me know and I will add them.

message 69: by Joy (new)

Joy | 281 comments I volunteered for Wilder Girls DQs as well, but my copy of Gideon came in early and I have to return it before challenge start. So I'll probably read it before the challenge, but answer DQs for points during the challenge.

Here's my shelf and I'll do some bingo looking. So glad tineye is banned from this challenge BTW. That site is redonculous.

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Sin Bingo Thoughts. I figured I'd post ones I thought might work and the captains can put what actually work in the suggestions post. For a lot of them they meet two of the criteria but I can't say for sure on the 3rd. They are starting points at least.

Pride: The Love Song of Sawyer Bell (Tour Dates, #1) by Avon Gale Brooklyn & Beale by Olivia Evans

Lust: When He Was Wicked (Bridgertons, #6) by Julia Quinn The Viscount Who Loved Me (With 2nd Epilogue) (Bridgertons, #2) by Julia Quinn A Rogue by Any Other Name (The Rules of Scoundrels, #1) by Sarah MacLean Four to Score (Stephanie Plum, #4) by Janet Evanovich

Sloth: Kitty and the Midnight Hour (Kitty Norville #1) by Carrie Vaughn

Wrath: Artificial Condition (The Murderbot Diaries, #2) by Martha Wells The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet (Wayfarers, #1) by Becky Chambers We Are Legion (Bobiverse, #1) by Dennis E. Always and for everything the edition you read is the one that counts.

I'll definitely try and squeeze in The Girl With All the Gifts. It's been sitting on my shelf for a few years now and somehow I never got round to reading it. I often kept it on reserve for the yellow Uno cards but somehow I never needed to read it haha.

I volunteered to write DQs for the Backroom BOM.

message 87: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 4185 comments Ooh I loved the book, I have it on audible and I don't think I've read it in the past six months so I'll read that one too.

message 88: by Stacie (new)

message 89: by Nicole (last edited Sep 22, 2019 06:14PM) (new)

Nicole P | 1834 comments I'll participate in the Backroom BOM.

I didn't have much time this weekend for Sin-bingo hunting, but here is what I got so far:

Lust: To Resist a Scandalous Rogue by Liana De la Rosa Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward

Vanity: The Mark (The Mark, #1) by Jen Nadol

Will keep looking :)

message 90: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 4185 comments Here are some other possible Sin-Bingo books

Lust: Finger Lickin' Fifteen (Stephanie Plum, #15) by Janet Evanovich

Envy: Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter, #4) by J.K. Rowling Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter, #7) by J.K. Rowling Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter, #6) by J.K. Rowling

Wrath: Rebirth Book 1 of The Rome's Revolution Saga by Michael Brachman

Sloth: Weaveworld by Clive Barker

Greed: Authority (Southern Reach #2) by Jeff VanderMeer

What do you think?

message 91: by Melindam (last edited Sep 23, 2019 01:11AM) (new)

Melindam | 8525 comments Thanks Nicole!
@ Jenny. Thanks. I think the 1st book under Envy (Little Fires) is a bit of a borderline case & Goblet of Fire looks blue to me. The other 2 HP books could work if we can find other teams' members to have read it in 2019.

For Greed, we could use the hardback/paperback/kinlde version of the book you listed above Authority (Southern Reach, #2) by Jeff VanderMeer

I will update the Bingo RECs page accordingly.

message 92: by Melindam (last edited Sep 23, 2019 02:13AM) (new)

Melindam | 8525 comments @Eldarwen/Nicole. I have updated the BOM sheet as well, adding the backroom BOM.

While you're hunting for books, please bear in mind that we should make the maximum of the books we're reading - for sin bingo as well as for page numbers. The bigger the better! :-)

Don't worry. I'll be reading it because it's been sitting on my TBR and physical shelves for 3-4 years now ;-)

message 100: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) The Book of Life (All Souls Trilogy, #3) by Deborah Harkness works for green bingo if you can find someone else in the group who has read it this year.
