Douglas ... are you offering up some ARCS?

If so, I'm game. Contacting through Goodreads works.

Brenda Knight | 218 comments I would prefer a message here on Goodreads.
Unfortunately I'm unable to utilize electronic books. I need an actual book to read. Paperback is perfectly fine.
If an author and I agree on a copy of their book in exchange for my honest review, I always read those books first and in the order they are received.
I post reviews on Goodreads & Amazon(US), other sites upon request.
Thanks for asking and feel free to check out my reviews.

either through a PM here or by email

Alice Reeds (alice_reeds) | 15 comments I think either way, PM over GR or via e-mail, is good.

message 8: by Aly (new)

Aly | 24 comments I read some ARC books and I don't mind who contacts me, author or publisher. I like to read horror, YA, and anything supernatural the most but I would read anything to help out authors and give it an honest review. Please send me a e-mail at Alysiaur26@yahoo.com or PM me here on GR. I have a kindle so amazon and MOBI files work very well, but I will except PDF files as well or paperback if need be. I post my reviews here on Goodreads, Amazon, and Goggle. thanks!

Toni | 7 comments A PM on here works, then I'll give my e-mail address. Thanks.

message 10: by Christopher (new)

Christopher Taylor (christopher_taylor) | 6 comments I enjoy reading ARC books, giving the author or publisher a review is a must. It's a great way to suggest a goodread with others that might be looking for something worth their time. PM or GR contact, or email is a good method of contacting me.

Alyanna (yanadulset) | 12 comments I enjoy reading ARCs from authors/publishers. I like to read books in any genre, YA/NA. I'd like to be reached through Email. I can also be contacted through a Goodreads PM.

message 12: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Barringer (Ravenmount) (ravenmount) Sending me a message on Goodreads works fine. I've accepted a few ebook ARCS and review copies that way so far, through initial contact via Goodreads, and then email or a link to a gift copy of the book in a Goodreads message. I usually get to all physical ARCs and review copies long before ebooks though, since they get stacked on my desk till I read them and are thus hard to forget about or overlook. In either case, a Goodreads message is the way to start for me. I read a lot of genres, and a lot of subjects, so a quick browse through my shelved books might be a great idea if you want to know whether a book is in my range of interests. If in doubt, message me.

message 13: by J.S. (new)

J.S. (jsedge) | 25 comments I pick up ARCs either through posts in a group (such as this) or a GR PM. I always check into the book first, suss out whether it's likely something I'll enjoy. If I get the sense I won't, I'll pass. If I do take it on, I will absolutely follow through on reading and reviewing. The genres I read are listed on my profile :)

They can contact me here with information about the genre and target age group and I can let them know if I am interested or have the time to read it.

Aly | 24 comments I don't mind how anyone contacts me. I try to help as many authors as I can. I am very honest with what is going on in my life and tell them the best time frame when they can expect my review to be complete. I appreciate all authors who understand when life "gets in the way" and most authors do understand this and are very much willing to work with you in my experience. I love helping it is a great hobby of mine and I try to give my best just as I would with any other thing in my life. If I say I will review it you will get reviews from me. :)

message 22: by Davida (new)

Davida Chazan (chocolatelady) | 94 comments A message here is fine, or via email is also okay. BUT, authors should check the other books I've reviewed to make sure that the book they're asking me to read is in the genres that I normally read. Also, my blog will tell them if I am accepting ARCs from authors or not at this time.

message 31: by Victoria (last edited Apr 10, 2015 06:32AM) (new)

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 2898 comments I don't mind how I'm contacted - private message through Goodreads, e-mail... Whatever - as long as the person who contacts me sends a polite request.

Since I read most genres, I pick which books I'll agree to read and review based on whether the book sounds interesting to me, and the author is allowing plenty of time for possible commitments I may have.

I like to know the deadline (if there is any) for when you want the review posted. Along with the title, genre, and synopsis for the book. Plus, where you want the review posted.

I also need to know the format you'll be offering the book in, because only certain formats are an option for me.

Dana ****Reads Alot**** private message through goodreads.

message 34: by Nenia (new)

Nenia Campbell (neniacampbell) It really depends. I get a lot of requests I have no interest in, and sometimes that feels like spam. A couple of times, I've actually had people put their review requests into my author ask box (I'm an author). That was annoying.

If I have their book shelved and they're interested in sending me a copy, I prefer a comment on my review or a private message that says something like, "Hey! I noticed you have my book added/shelved as to-read/etc. Would you like a free copy?" Then I know that (a) they aren't just requesting me at random, they've actually done some research into whether I might want to read it or not, and (b) I know that they're actually planning on giving me a free copy and not demanding that I buy one and then review it (as some authors have done to me--which sucks, because I am poor and don't even really have the money to buy the books I actually want to read).

Exactly the kind of message I prefer. Though I will take requests from authors of books I haven't yet shelved too; like I did not too long ago for someone who sent me a message saying their book was similar to something they'd seen I'd read recently, included their book's details (title, genre, description) and then asked if I'd be willing to write a review in exchange for a free copy. I'm especially willing to do this if I've read something by the author before, and the book they're asking me about is their new release.

Anyone is welcome to send me a private message like that, as long as they realize I would need certain formats, and can't except every request all the time (I try to do as many as I can though, if I like the sound of the books; especially if it's by an author I've enjoyed a book by in the past, or is a book I've already shelved because it looked good to me).

Great points. I wouldn't mind authors/publishers contacting me through GR, but I'd prefer that if they did they know I read their genre of book(s). That can be accomplished by simply looking at my shelves.
