I enjoyed this series overall but the last few books seemed to drop off a little. I liked Graydon from the beginning and I was glad that he finally got his turn in this installment. However, it dragged in parts for me and did not keep my interest throughout. I was hoping for more in Graydon's story. The Elder Races world was so intriguing but it was probably time for it to come to an end. I will continue to look for more books by this author in the future.

I've been looking forward to reading this one, as it focuses on Elena and Raphael again after a couple books with other couples. As a whole, I really enjoyed it, but it did seem slow in a couple places. All in all, though, it was very entertaining and well paced. I liked getting to see more of Aodhan, as well as learning more about Marguerite's history. Very much looking forward to continuing the series!

Shelf #9 ~ Immortals

Book: Drink Deep by Chloe Neill 11/22/19

Review:
While still dealing with the death of a Master, Cadogan House is put under review by the Greenwich Presidium. Merit just wants to hide in her room, but strange happenings are happening to the city and who better to investigate?
Good and evil magic is being unbalanced and it is messing with the elementals. I figured out soon enough who was causing this to happen but I was wrong on the why. As if poor Merit hasn't had to deal with enough she is hit with another blow.
Politically, there's a lot going on too. Too many powerful people hate the vampires and blame them for any and all wrong doings. I was so frustrated by Frank and his damn tests. I really question the GP and hope that's a fight in the future.
All is not bleak though. Something (someone) good comes out of all this. Looking forward to the next book!

Shelf #10 ~ Fae

Book: Rising Darkness by Shannon Mayer 11/27/19

Review:
Wow!!! I literally found myself getting choked up when we almost lost one character and I gasped when we lost another.
Pamela is finally facing her darkness but boy did I want to smack her. I'm glad it didn't take too long for her to realize who she wanted to be. (side note: she is crazy strong and I can't wait to get to her series: Questing Witch Series)
And that whole situation with Feris!? I have to admit though, I could never find myself really hating him and I think I like where this is heading. :-)
I think this is the perfect extended weekend to ignore any other reading obligations and read the final book!

I was very pleasantly surprised by this one. It's been on my TBR forever, and I just have never gotten around to reading it. I will say the development of the relationship between Kim and Liam left a bit to be desired, as the whole story took place over a very short period of time. I was enjoying the story enough though that it didn't turn out to be a huge deal. I will be reading the next one, for sure!

Another enjoyable installment in this series. I really like Georgina, despite some of her questionable decision making at times. The mystery that she is tasked with solving was intriguing. I was glad to see that Roman is back. The ending left me wanting to know what happens next and how things work out for Georgina.

Shelf #11 ~ Military

Book: Axel by Harper Sloan 12/2/19
Rating: 3 Stars
Review:
It started out ok. Izzy escapes an abusive husband then it's some time later. She's doing better emotionally and trying to get a divorce but he's making it hard for her. Her 2 friends, Dee and Greg, help her through all this. In comes Axel. He is one of the partners in Greg's security firm and, it turns out, the man that Izzy onced loved and thought dead. At this point, the story becomes the insta-love storyline with the ex-husband conflict randomly popping up. It would of been 4 stars, but I hate when a story jumps months ahead with some issue and then jumps months ahead for some HEA and repeat.

The suspense in this book was full of action with Natalie trying to find her sister and the other missing girls. Duff and Natalie had great chemistry and hit it off. The setting was nice and one of the reasons I picked the book since it worked for another challenge. I liked Duff's Navy SEAL friends so I will probably read their stories at some point. It was an okay read for me overall.

I thought this was a very good start to the KGI series. The beginning was just a bit slow, but once Ethan found Rachel, everything picked up from there. I really liked the development of Ethan and Rachel's relationship as they rediscovered each other, as it didn't feel too rushed, nor too slow. I fell a little bit in love with all of Ethan's family, so I'm very much looking forward to seeing more of them in the rest of the series!

I liked that this installment moved to a different Shifter town than the previous books. It introduced new characters that were enjoyable and familiar characters made appearances as well. This book included the first human male and female shifter pairing and I also liked that dynamic between Diego and Cassidy. The story was pretty fast paced and there were new elements of the story that seemed to be a set up for future books. I look forward to finding out how everything plays out going forward in the series.
