I hate how Drew immediately makes fun of Piper and how she immediately tries to take Jason. I like how Leo is claimed almost as soon as they arrive at the camp. I like how Piper is claimed by Aphrodite at the campfire, and how she proves Drew wrong. I like how Jason offers her a spot in the team. (hide spoiler)]

I have sectioned it out and given myself 10 days to read it. It may take longer but that's what I'm aiming for. I have only read the first 2 books in the Percy Jackson series so I am now wondering if I should have finished that series first, although I am not having any trouble following this one so far.

(view spoiler)[ this book is going by so fast! it's so weird not to be reading from Percy's perspective, because that's what I was expecting, but Leo, Jason, and Piper are amazing!

honestly, Drew is so rude! Aphrodite is supposed to be the goddess of love and beauty, and the way Drew treats her siblings, especially Piper, is definitely not beautiful or coming from love.

also, what is going on with these evil spirits and crazy dreams? what could be coming that is worse than the Titan War? obviously, something is wrong up in Olympus if they're blocking out all messages and signals, but no one really knows what it is. and now Hera is a prisoner. what kind of thing can contain a that powerful of a goddess? (view spoiler)[now both Leo Piper are being told to betray their friends. Leo obviously was not going to do that, but Piper I'm not so sure. I don't think she's going to betray her friends for her dad, but she seems to think she will.

also, the thing about monsters not being confined to Hades or something didn't sound very good. that means whenever they defeat a monster, it doesn't stay dead. it can reform and come back again, which is definitely not going to help them.

who is the woman behind all of this? Leo seems to keep seeing her everywhere, and she is the one leading all of the monsters against them, but who is she? what kind of creature could have enough power to rule over these monsters and capture Hera?? (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Leo just talked to his father, Hephaestus. it was nice of him to check in, but, really? Percy made a deal with the Olympians so that they would check in with their kids, but this is the first time Leo has even seen his father.

I completely forgot to talk about this, but Jason and Thalia are siblings! I don't remember much from the last series, but Thalia was one of my favorite characters :)

right now Piper, Jason, and Leo are heading towards the Bay Area, though I'm not really sure why. apparently, according to Medea, that's where Jason and Leo are going to die?? (hide spoiler)]

but really, how are they supposed to lure Gaea back to sleep? she's capable of persuading Zeus to close of Olympus. going close to her is not going to be a good idea, especially with how easily Jason and Leo were able to be charm-spokened(?) by the lady in the department store. (view spoiler)[Nico de Angelo just appeared! I don't really know, but I think he might have traveled with Percy for a bit in the "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" series. I think him and his sister stayed in this Lotus Hotel that prevented them from ages for a while...

it's really weird how Frank hasn't been claimed by his godly parent yet. at Camp Half Blood, Leo and Piper were chosen pretty late, but they were chosen the night they arrived. Frank has been at camp for a month, and nothing has happened. maybe he really belongs at the Greek Camp Half Blood, and that's why? or maybe he'll be claimed at the Feast of Fortuna. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[wowww Octavius is so nice to everyone. he acts so arrogant and literally DOES NOT CARE about anyone's lives. he made Gwen DIE (even if it was just for a minute or so) by stabbing her. and he convinced all of the senators to not aid Percy, Hazel, and Frank on their journey to find Thanatos and defeat A GIANT. why is he even allowed to have such a powerful position?

currently, Percy, Hazel, and Frank are headed to Alaska to somehow defeat a giant and release a god. fun. by now, I'm pretty sure the Great Seven from the prophecy are Percy, Annabeth, Hazel, Frank, Piper, Jason, and Leo. just because... they seem important haha

it's so weird, the Roman demigods seem to either doubt Greek demigods exist or hate them. why? without the Greeks, the Romans wouldn't really have anything to improve on. obviously it's going to be really hard to get the Greeks and Romans to "join forces." (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[apparently Gaea would rather one of her servants die than Percy die, which cannot be a good sign. what's this "huge sacrifice" that she wants him to make? do you think he's going to sacrifice himself or his mom or something to save his friends?

Frank's spear is really interesting. though Gray seems rather dangerous. like Frank said, Gray probably wouldn't refrain from attacking someone on their side if they were in the way. he only has two more uses out of it before he has to learn his mother's talents. but what are those? i have no idea how Frank is supposed to be able to defend himself with a broken bow and a golden stick.

also, what is happening with Percy's memories? when the evil centaurs and Cyclopes marched by, something happened to him. he got this weird fever or something. I thought it might have just been because it contradicted his erased memories...? (in the last series centaurs and Cyclopes were their allies) but that doesn't make very much sense because the whole idea of Camp Jupiter would have done something to him too, since it's really different from Camp Half Blood. so what did happen to Percy? so apparently, Frank can shapeshift into any living animal. he hasn't gotten the hang of it yet, though. and he just used his last spear Gray thing, so all he has are his arrows, and those are running out really fast. if he runs out of arrows, they're going to have a really hard time freeing Death...

again, someone mentioned this huge sacrifice that Percy is going to have to make. and Ares says he isn't going to be able to do it without Frank because he's too loyal to his friends, will that mean he will have to sacrifice Hazel or Frank? aghhh.

and Percy is getting his memory back! Jason seemed like bits and pieces were coming back too, so hopefully they'll be able to remember everything and somehow get the two camps to join forces? (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[wow there's a lot to think about. all seven of the demigods coming together has caused a lot of... complications? especially between Percy and Jason and between Percy and Leo. Percy and Jason can't seem to decide who's the "leader" between them and Percy doesn't seem to trust Leo after the whole blowing up New Rome incident.

and between Hazel and Leo too! I wonder when they're going to realize that Leo is a descendant of Sammy. (at least I think that's what's happening.) and Leo really does seem like the seventh wheel. the others try their best to include him, but he's kind of... the odd one out.

also, what happened to Nico? is he in Rome Rome? I feel like he is, and that's how "in six days he's going to die and Rome will fall." because it's going to happen at the same time?

all of the prophecies and visions and knife images are so confusing! literally the only part they have figured out is the part about the seven demigods. I feel like the "key to end all death" or something is about them having to find some key to close the Doors of Death. and the "Mark of Athena burning through Rome" probably means that the coin in Annabeth's pocket will do something to contibrute to the "fall of Rome Rome..."

another thing, I'm not sure what covers/editons you all have, but mine features what looks like Jason and Percy preparing to have a sword duel on horses. and I can't really tell, but Jason's eyes look gold, like in Piper's knife. I'm wondering if they're going to end up battling because of just plain disagreement or because the same thing that took over Leo is going to take over Jason... (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[so apparently the cover image I have is when Percy and Jason were being controlled by the eidolon spirit things and forced to battle.

they can't trust anyone. even that god Phorcys was against them. and Baccus. he didn't seem to want to help without this "tribute," which can't be a good thing if he thinks they won't be able to give it. maybe they'll need his help and then the tribute is the thing that Percy wouldn't be able to do because of his loyalty to his friends.

and the whole of Camp Jupiter is against them too! I don't know how they're supposed to explain about the eidolon that possessed Leo if they even get the chance to. even Reyna is against them! I doubt they'll listen to Jason, they threw a brick at his face. and Frank and Hazel might still be considered outcasts. and Percy definitely won't be trusted, he's Greek :/
