Leo has a way with tools. When he sees his cabin at Camp Half-Blood, filled with power tools and machine parts, he feels right at home. But there’s weird stuff, too—like the curse everyone keeps talking about. Weirdest of all, his bunkmates insist that each of them—including Leo—is related to a god.

Well, Yesterday I got to chapter XVII (Leo). I'm linking it so far.
(view spoiler)[ I like Jason. I mean, we can already tell why he doesn't feel like he should be at a GREEK camp, but he seems like a cool guy.
Leo is fun, I also like him. But I'm not feeling Piper. I can't relate to her at all, specially since she's prepared to betray them (but I'm sure in the end she'll do whats right, or at least I hope so!).
Im not digging this pov changes. I think you can relate to the other characters without having to change the pov constantly. I already had a bit of a problem with it in the Kane Chronicles series, but I guess Rick Riordan likes to write that way now. (hide spoiler)]

All finished.. Like I said, I'm glad to be done with that but that doesn't mean it was bad. I think the genre was a little "young" for me and the romance was too basic. The fantasy was good and the comparisons to greek mythology were interesting. I also found some parts quite hysterical. All in all it was OK and I can see why it's such a popular series however I would like to read Percy Jackson first before continuing on with this follow up series.

Rachael, I started this book.. However, I decided that I would rather read the Percy Jackson series before I read this series. I hope that is alright. I just don't like to have spoilers before I read a book.

Now that I'm reading this series again I realized that I only read it in the first place because Percy and Annabeth are in it, but now I have a chance to actually slow down and read the parts that don't include Percy.

I'm at chapter 6 now and I love experiencing this all over again. I hope you guys are enjoying reading it too. My advice though is not to rush through it because it is too good of a book to miss any of the details.

Up to chapter 4 (view spoiler)[ I'm so happy to be back in this world! It's bothering me slightly that it's so similar to Percy Jackson, but I think there will be enough differences later on that I can forgive the book. I'm already in love with Leo and Jason - they're so sarcastic, I love it. I don't know much about Roman mythology, and I can assume this book will go into that quite a bit, so I'm excited to learn more. Basically, everything so far has got me excited for the rest of the book! (hide spoiler)]

What I like about this book is that I get to know the characters more. Like at the moment I really don't care about the plot development because this is just really the setting the scene book or setting up the other books book. This book to me is where I get to know all the characters and not only their personalities but also their backgrounds.

I'm at chapter 31 now and I now realize that not as much as in the Percy Jackson series is happening. Because (view spoiler)[in that series they went from one problem to the next and in this book all they have faced so far is a few cyclopes and have seen one minor god that didn't really do much to help. Up to chapter 21 (view spoiler)[ I'm really enjoying learning about all the new gods! As far as I know, we weren't introduced to any of the winds in the Percy Jackson series. The reason why I love this series is because of the gods, so yay! Leo is still my fav, I just wish he'd tell us about his mother dying. Why does he blame himself? I know he explained that he survived cause of his magic fire resilience stuff, but is that it? Am I missing something? Oh, and I wish Jason would hurry up and get all his memories back, instead of just conveniently remembering all the important to the quest things (hide spoiler)]

I finished the book!! I really like it and though I do believe it could have been better it was still a great read and I can't wait to read the next one. Also even though I've finished I'm still open to discuss with anyone.

@Victoria - (view spoiler)[ I kind of feel the same way about not really fearing for their life, but I think it is because in this book no one on the quest was really expendable because what I felt through out the whole book is that they can't be killed since they are needed for the big prophecy. In the Percy Jackson series it seemed like someone either died or got captured in every single book which caused everyone to think that maybe Rick Riordan wouldn't be so against killing the main characters off. Though I don't really see much of that in this book which is a bummer. (hide spoiler)]

She's such a major goddess, I can't wait to see what she can do. I mean, controlling the whole earth will be chaotic! I'm glad Jason has met Thalia, because I really like her. I am currently reading the Son of Neptune and I think what I like about it the most is that it seems to be different than all the other books that Rick Riordan has written since it has to do more about the Romans rather than the Greeks. Sorry I am so slow guys. It is really slow for me right now. I am on Chapter 23 (view spoiler)[ I really like that I am learning more about the Gods, both Greek and Roman. I am still trying to get use to the characters, Jason, Piper, and Leo are just not as developed as Percy, Annabeth, and Grover. Hopefully it picks up though. Also when did the cyclops go bad again? I feel the same way. This series is defiantly not as advenerous as the Percy Jackson series.

I knew Dylan was a monster, the little shit was obvious about it. OMG, Annabeth knows how to make an awesome appearance!

A cures sounds interesting but annoying to the cursed Hephaestus children. Poor Leo, he's only trying to cheer everyone up and they're like - NO, no happiness ever!
