The Heroes of Olympus Series by Rick Riordan - Reading from 'The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus #1)' from August 1st 2018
I'm almost done with this book. There are a couple thing I don't like, and I feel I'm reading just to get some info on my favorite characters... but it's not a bad book. What do you all think? Did you have the chance to start it?
Yes sorry I've been busy with college applications. They are due tomorrow so I should get on with the reading Zen. I should be caught up hopefully by Monday.

I feel like I keep getting spoilers from Percy Jackson.. I totally didn't mean to read this series first.
Ah. I haven't read the Percy Jackson series either.. Is it bad to read this first? I have this book on hold, just waiting for it to come in.
It clearly takes place after the Percy Jackson series but I don't think you HAVE to have read it first for this one to make sense.
I'm @ 30% and not really loving it but not hating it either.. I like Piper but I'm not really connecting with any of the other characters.
All finished.. Like I said, I'm glad to be done with that but that doesn't mean it was bad. I think the genre was a little "young" for me and the romance was too basic. The fantasy was good and the comparisons to greek mythology were interesting. I also found some parts quite hysterical. All in all it was OK and I can see why it's such a popular series however I would like to read Percy Jackson first before continuing on with this follow up series.

I just don't like to have spoilers before I read a book.
I would be up for reading The Percy Jackson series with you :) Just let me know when.

Now that I'm reading this series again I realized that I only read it in the first place because Percy and Annabeth are in it, but now I have a chance to actually slow down and read the parts that don't include Percy. I'm at chapter 6 now and I love experiencing this all over again. I hope you guys are enjoying reading it too. My advice though is not to rush through it because it is too good of a book to miss any of the details.
What I like about this book is that I get to know the characters more. Like at the moment I really don't care about the plot development because this is just really the setting the scene book or setting up the other books book. This book to me is where I get to know all the characters and not only their personalities but also their backgrounds. I'm at chapter 31 now and I now realize that not as much as in the Percy Jackson series is happening. Because (view spoiler)
To hide spoilers you have to be on the computer and you will see above the text box in parenthesis like this (some html is ok) which will show you how to hide spoilers.
I finished the book!! I really like it and though I do believe it could have been better it was still a great read and I can't wait to read the next one. Also even though I've finished I'm still open to discuss with anyone. @Victoria - (view spoiler)

This series is defiantly not as advenerous as the Percy Jackson series.
@Allison, yay! I'm even more excited now :)@Courtney, I agree, I didn't enjoy it as much as Percy Jackson. But it gets there by the end of the book

I was not expecting her either.
Chapter six - about 15% into the book so far.Enjoying the book so far - I already like Jason, he reminds me of me.

Piper has a secret. Her father has been missing for three days, ever since she had that terrifying nightmare. Piper doesn’t understand her dream, or why her boyfriend suddenly doesn’t recognize her. When a freak storm hits, unleashing strange creatures and whisking her, Jason, and Leo away to someplace called Camp Half-Blood, she has a feeling she’s going to find out.
Leo has a way with tools. When he sees his cabin at Camp Half-Blood, filled with power tools and machine parts, he feels right at home. But there’s weird stuff, too—like the curse everyone keeps talking about. Weirdest of all, his bunkmates insist that each of them—including Leo—is related to a god.
