Flys? Stuff Evan Walker, that's gross. If he really wanted to find Cassie he could hunt her down. Surely their all going to starve to death? And poor Ben. Surely that would be to mundane to even fathom. Why have they taken such an interest in kids? So they can have them as minions or something? there's just to many questions in my head at the moment. Finished (view spoiler)[ Meh, I felt like this one was very boring, there was a lot of action but they didn't really go anywhere. It was either all of them at that hotel or Ringer in that damn room being tortured. The ending was odd, like Razor knew that Teacup was all that was keeping Ringer going, she obviously loved her so why would he shot her? Ugh, stupid characters. (hide spoiler)]

Book 1, Part 1, The Problem of Rats: (view spoiler)[ What is Ringer scouting for? Ringer killing an Other, digging out the pellet and putting it in her mouth as a disguise was genius. Tea Cup was so tragic. I felt so badly for Ringer and I was angry at Tea Cup for causing it. (hide spoiler)]

Part 3, The Last Star (Chpt 29): (view spoiler)[ Evan's ex-girlfriend finds him and helps him. She is Awakened too, but doesn't understand his feelings toward the humans. Evan needs to kill Grace to get away and look for Cassie. Evan is a Silencer, he would know that Grace wasn't dead. He wouldn't make that mistake! I don't understand what happened to Evan, why is he just human?

Look outs obviously looking out the hotel window and being seen was very amateurish for trained soldiers. They are kids, but they are trained.

Why did Evan attack the hotel instead of trying to contact Cassie? Though I can't think of how he could safely contact them, but I don't think knocking them all out was a great plan. (hide spoiler)]

The 'aliens' are supposed to be some superior being yet they make mistakes, Grace should have known really that Evan was turning more human than what was planned. Evan was super stupid to attack Cassie and her friends when their his only hope now that he is injured. (hide spoiler)]

Part IV, Millions, Part V, The Price (Chpt 48): (view spoiler)[ Poor Poundcake. It would be awful to be in charge at age 8. I think even if you kept telling yourself that your mother was sick, hearing her say those horrible things to him would be hard to ignore.

I am very confused. It is very inefficient for them to drop Megan with a bomb triggered by breath, then to just kill them. I don't understand what the objective of the Others is.

So Cassie successfully takes the CO2 bomb out of Megan, but then Grace shows up. Does Grace take out the helicopter because she wants to personally kill Evan? So are the controlled humans as insignificant to Grace as the free humans? (hide spoiler)]

Part VI, The Trigger (Chpt 49): (view spoiler)[ Wow, Poundcake was so strong and brave and he took out Grace. I hope Evan got out. (hide spoiler)]

Book 2, Part VII, The Sum of All Things & Part VIII, Dubuque (Finished ): (view spoiler)[ Vosch implants Ringer/Marika with enhancements including the 12th System. It all didn't make sense to me but I had ruled out humans doing it to each other. But it didn't make any sense that aliens would do things the way they were happening. I'm glad it's starting to come out, but I do not know why they killed off 90% of the human race, enhanced a few beautiful people and then made small children into IEDs.

Wouldn't the hosts own exhalations trigger the CO2 level bomb?

I'm glad that Razor really did care about Ringer. It was scary that Ringer could know Razor's mind when she kissed him. That must be why Evan kissed Cassie. What a useful skill.

Jumping out of a plane was intense, but surviving was amazing. I thought ignoring the pain of her injuries, just like Evan was unbelievable. And it was all a test? I'm glad that she passed, but I was horrified at Razor's solution to her problems. I'm glad that Evan took off when Poundcake took out Grace.

(view spoiler)[ Hello boring book. Sadly this has suffered the 2nd book syndrome. Book 1 was great, loved it. This book, nope. BORING. So much talking and very little action. The freaking aliens are taking over the planet, shouldn't there be more of that and less talking!

I can't remember now what Evan said to try and stop it from happening, i read mine on audio and thats one of the bad things about audio you can't just flick to the right page to find a quote. Great point about the kissing it does explain why Evan kept kissing Cassie i had not thought of that. I am guessing they already knew it worked on the babies but how did they do it to the baby in the first place? As far as i could work out the tests were on adults was Ringer the first to survive the test hence all those dead bodies in the ware house? Evan is going to hate himself for what he did when he finds out he is not an Alien, all those humans he killed :( At the end of the first book my big question was why did they seperate the kids on the bus and kill off 1/2 of them, this well and truly answered that. I'm torn between the book is brilliant or a piece of crap as i find the book really makes you think about what is going on. In both books i kept thinking things were to far fetched then later there would be an explanation, the author makes you constantly question things. But not in a this book is pathetic way like a lot of books do. Hahaha do my ramblings make any sense I'm as bad as the book.

I agree about Evan, poor thing and also about Ringer being the first older experiment to survive. Awesome, I say, super Ringer and Evan can take out a lot of soldiers!

I think in my other buddy read, someone guessed that the ones who seemed to be easiest to brain wash were chosen to become soldiers, but if you were too questioning, tough or troublesome, they eliminated you. But I was never sure how the red vs green factored in.

The author must have some kind of skill because so many people complain about aspects of these books (including myself) and yet I plan to read the next one, because I'm intrigued. It's confusing, but not painful or boring.
