As for trying new foods, activity, etc. nothing comes to mind.
So how was the Angry Orchard Hard Cider? :)

And have not tried any the recipe's yet, but this story had the recipes for many of the dishes mentioned in the book

I love hard cider. Did you try the apple or the pear?

So I popped the ciders (I got two bottles--my local Publix supermarket sells them by the bottle) into the fridge last night and kind of forgot about them until now. I got Cinnful Apple and Crisp Apple. I just popped the top off the Cinnful one and it's not bad. I think I like regular cider better though. They also have a green apple, but that one my grocery store didn't sell, but they sell it in a six or eight pack of bottles at my local Target store. I may be tempted to pick one up. I didn't realize they sell a pear beverage as well. I may have to look into that too.

If there is unfamiliar music referenced in books I sometimes look it up on youtube.

I've looked up songs too.

I actually am tired of the story, just read for the recipes now.

lol I haven't read the last 3. There are some really yummy recipes in those books.

I have 3 that are staples in my house, the molasses, the double flake (I add mini chocolate chips to it), and the black and white ones.
In fact all 3 will be part of my holiday baking.

The books are cozy mystery's. With these ones I think the order won't matter a whole lot. There is a larger story arc with Hannah, but it is between 2 guys and over 10 books in she still hasn't made a choice. There is some development with the secondary characters, but unless you are obsessive about reading in order you should be ok.
I've probably tried another 10 or so recipes, and while they were good, not enough for a repeat.

I would say if you try the books, go the library route, then you can copy out the recipes that interest you.

I've ate licorice pipes while reading book #4 of the Still Life series.

I've tried other food, drinks or recipes from books. Other than that I don't recall.
