I am celebrating my new Kindle (my nook's screen broke *sadface*) by buying 5 new books and reviewing them.

Yes, that's right - I don't want your books for free. I want to buy them. You will get *honest* reviews from me, however I will give you the choice of whether you want them posted on amazon or not after I post them here.

Here is what I prefer as far as genre:
-Romance/Erotica. Note this does not mean smut. I am in the mood for a story. Am beta reading a very nice romance right now and it made me cry. Do the same and I will <3 you forever. No femdom please, I adore alpha males...

-Historical/Historical fiction
-Fantasy - I am a bit leery about this as too many fantasy novels go all wierd on me. Think...historical type fantasy. :)
-Anything else but sci fi. Please god no sci fi.

I may not select the first five to post. I will review the blurbs and choose the ones I think I will enjoy most. Cause this IS a celebration! The birth of my new Kindle!

*cake and ice cream for everyone!*

Victoria Griffith | 2 comments Given your profile, I think you'd enjoy my eco-thriller AMAZON BURNING. It's got 4.3 stars on Goodreads with 17 ratings, which I'm counting as a success because the paperback hasn't yet been released. So it's all based on Kindle! And it's available for just $4.39!

message 14: by Turhan (new)

Turhan Halil Ok, I think I'm *out* on all counts! I only eat non dairy ice cream, I like cake as long as it doesn't have too much sugar or any dairy, my book only has a little romance, and it's dark/urban fantasy with some *weird* in it!

Despite all of that, I wish you tons of fun with your new Kindle :)

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Ty, Victoria and turhan! Alas I actually bought eight books for my celebration (four were from private messages). So I have slightly overextended my book budget. But both of you are first in line for next payday! :-)

Groovy Lee Hello, Melly

You said anything else but sci-fi so I'm going to take a chance and add my book. It's a Kindle suspense entitled:

Cause She's a Good Girl by Groovy Lee

CAUSE SHE'S A GOOD GIRL

SYNOPSIS: Piper Banion spent most of her eighteen years trying to do the impossible—gain her abusive mother’s love. But the older she gets, the more she realizes that a parent’s undying love is something you don’t have to vie for, compromise your principles for, nor beg for in your prayers. Connie will always see her as a “worthless burden”. Still, it was hard making that life-altering decision that freed Piper from the chains of her defective childhood.

After five years of wandering from one small town to the next, she finds a true friend in Shelly Jamison, a runaway mom, slash, devout party girl, and outspoken rebel against the rich and powerful—her family included. Following the not-so-surprising pink slips they received one Monday, coupled with the alley fight between her and Shelly’s boy-toy, Tomas, Piper finally gives in to her friend’s invitation to spend the summer at her family’s estate in Destin, California. At last, she gets to meet Shelly’s S.E.X.Y. cousin Oz Jamison.

Oz owns a PR firm in Seattle, Washington. Hardly a day goes by that he can’t turn a corner without being asked those headache-provoking questions: “Are you Prince? Would you sign my Purple Rain DVD? Touch my copy of your latest CD? Better yet, touch me instead?” With skin the color of smooth vanilla, and the sensual glint in those caramel-brown eyes, even a pledged virgin like Piper has to fight off the lure of his sexuality. She opts instead for a friendship based on their shared abusive backgrounds while he house-sits for his aunt and uncle during the summer.

Piper is determined to forge a better life in California. But the collective cries of nine murdered women reaching out to her from those weekly news bulletins suspends that task. Someone is killing all the women she comes into contact with, and there seems to be a connection. What is it? She doesn’t know, what she does know is that they all stared into the eyes of the Silk Stocking Serial Killer before they were murdered. Piper’s “pureness” was the trump card that enabled her to walk away from the rage that consumes him and the lives of his unsuspecting victims. But the next time they meet, a head start is all she’ll get.

In the chaos off trying to get away, she learns that Shelly has disappeared. A muffled voice over the phone claims responsibility; And it’s not the Silk Stocking Serial Killer who’s daring her to come rescue her friend.

Most of my reviews are on my website http://www.groovylee.com

Thanks!

Stacy Juba | 2 comments If you're still seeking books, Melly, I have a novel that is a blend of cozy mystery, romantic suspense and historical called Twenty-Five Years Ago Today.

Should we dig for the truth when Pandora's Box is a coffin of buried secrets? For twenty-five years, Diana Ferguson's killer has gotten away with murder. When rookie obit writer and newsroom editorial assistant Kris Langley investigates the cold case of the artistic young cocktail waitress who was obsessed with Greek and Roman mythology, not only does she fall in love with Diana's sexy nephew, but she must also fight to stay off the obituary page herself.

K. Jarrait (kannejarrait) | 2 comments Not sure if you're still looking for books. My novella is a quick read (although it contains graphic content, so please consider that first), but it looking for some good, honest reviews. And, if you are all set, I wish you all the best with your kindle. Although I miss the smell of a good page turner, I <3 my kindle for exposing me to new writers as well.

message 30: by Len (new)

Len | 28 comments Currently, I have two books available for free on Smashword and iTunes and free on Kindle prime until January 1, 2015. Copernican Journey is a near future, adventure love story that takes place on Earth and Mars in 2046. A woman scientist and a male race driver/ adventurer have an inadvertent blood exchange on their way to Mars that may prove crucial as they struggle against assassins, androids and a Martian pandemic

Questing for Dragons is a novel about an 18 year old girl named Pen in early medieval times who doesn't want in arranged marriage to Igor, the richest man in the village. "I can smell him before I see him.'

She seizes the opportunity to serve as guide to a handsome young knight to escape Igor. Her adventure soon becomes dangerous. Emperor Aethelred wants her lovely head. The sorceress Lady Dazzle wants her dead. And, Dazzle's husband, Lord Grimm, wants her in his bed. And, if that's not enough, the handsome knight is great with his sword and not so great in the politics of life, which means Pen is forever extracting him from one tiger trap after another. Things get so bad she starts wondering if she would have been better off with Igor.

Robert Eggleton | 35 comments I just submitted my very first reader review in exchange for the similar. As a 63 year old, this was more difficult for me than one might imagine -- traditional values about literature in an age of cyberspace. Following is the review that I wrote in exchange for a review of Rarity from the Hollow: The Unseen Face is a David Goodis crime story and The Masque of the Red Death by Edgar Allan Poe twisted up together to be inhaled deeply. For those interested in reading action adventure, the battles aptly described in this novel occur within the cranium. Written in first person, the protagonist is the antagonist. The love is the hate. And, to be in love is the misery and salvation of James, the main character, you or me. Initially this story triggered my suicidal ideation in its first few pages, so some caution should be exercised. As the suspense progressed, however, comfort was achieved by the fact that the truth is the truth. That’s what James found and what I hope we all achieve despite the psychological defenses that we were born with. In this way, the novel challenges the notion of being in love, and stretches friendship to the limit. And such is what the reader will find. An enlightening read.
