Evelyn's You bought them, Now read them challenge

Good luck.

I had about 100 to get through. At the end I was so darn sick of of the chore that I promised my self to only buy books as fast as I could read them. Of course I left the worst ones to the end... The end was a horror. I couldn't figure out why I had bought some of them.

I am planning to read them in roughly the order I bought them in - starting on the first shelf and working my way along it. There is a wide variety, so I don't think I'll get bored.

Same here! Evelyn, I think you set a good goal - enough to make a dent but small enough to leave room for reading other stuff. Good luck!

I have no more space on my shelves for anymore books, but I keep buying them anyway! It actually makes me happy to look at all the unread books and imagine reading one after another. I have them sorted (kind of) according to genre.
Yet, I am a sucker for a new release from an author I love or a suggestion from a Goodreads friend regarding a book I never heard of, but sounds intriguing.
Almost every time I buy a book, I say to myself, "OK, this is the last one I will buy until I finish enough books I already own, to clear some space on these shelves."
And don't get me started on Kindle - my sister and I share an account, so the number of books we have is at least partially her fault!

Crossing fingers anyway

Sorry for the double post, I will edit it when I get to a computer.

Recently I read This Is Not the End of the Book and there were a line in it about the pleasure one can get from just walking into a room with a bookcase and looking at it, not even touching. I only just barely stopped myself from yelling "I know I know" as I was reading.

I do that kind of anthropomorphizing too Evelyn. I feel that way especially about books that haven't been properly appreciated.
Unfortunately I do love cats, and despite my allergy, I've owned at least one from the moment I had my own place. My partner sets the limit at two though; so that keeps me under control. :)
I continually tease him about the "perfect" rescue cat (a super-sweet Siamese) that we saw at an animal adoption drive, the one he said we couldn't violate the two cat rule for. I tease him that I'm willing to trade the more troublesome one of ours (Doyle) for the Siamese, and that when he comes back from a trip one day Doyle might look a little different and answer to another name. Truthfully though, I wouldn't give Doyle up even though he's the naughtiest animal I've ever owned.

I know, right? I've watched that movie so many times and it always makes me cry!

Beth and Angela, I loved the movie too, but haven't read the book yet - but I definitely will get to it!

Sounds intriguing. It might make a good companion book to what I am currently reading, The Luminaries.
