LOL I know I read the book, I just don't remember thinking it had ended. *making a note to see if our library has a copy*

I really liked the Yellow Rose mysteries, I wasn't sure if they were done or not until I read this thread. Sad. I haven't tried the author's cat mysteries. I'm not really a cat person, so I haven't really read many of the cat mysteries. On that note, I'm sad about Laurien Berenson's dog mysteries. That was one of the first series I read back when I got into cozies. I do love dogs!

Karen is also pleased to announce that she has agreed to write two more books in the Agatha-nominated Gray Whale Inn mystery series; the fifth is scheduled for release in 2013. More details will be posted soon, but if you're hungering for more of the Gray Whale Inn, BLUEBERRY BLUES, a Gray Whale Inn short story, is available now for Kindle.

I'm sorry there won't be any moreBrother Cadfael mysteries by Ellis Peters or
Amelia Peabody mysteries by Elizabeth Peters.
Well, Elizabeth Peters hasn't published since 2010 and she is 85 years old. Her Amelia Peabody series was suppose to end with the discovery of King Tut's tomb and she wrote that book. It's not official. But her website hasn't been updated with any new book news in several years.

and LOVED it, I was desperately hoping there would be a sequel. *sigh*

Elizabeth Peters once said that writing the Amelia Peabody books was easiest for her because she knew the characters so well. But she found going back and filling in some of the missing years difficult because it was hard to remember which events and knowledge the characters weren't suppose to know yet. It's hard to argue with her point as much as I would love more Amelia Peabody books.
☯Emily wrote: "IF Ms. Peters writes any more books, it will probably be in the Amelia Peabody series. ..."Haven't read the Amelia Peabody, I'll have to give it a try. I admit, I got the book because of the location (Copenhagen is my favorite city, been there many times) and because I really enjoyed the characters. I was so eager to read more! *long woe is me sigh*
I really miss author Valerie Wolzien. Both of her cozy series (Susan Henshaw & Josie Pigeon) seem to have disappeared. The Josie Pigeon series, I felt, had a long way to go before it needed to end.
Jennifer wrote: "The Maggody series was funny and bright...wish there were more to come"I love the Jane Jeffrey series. I have all of them - they're what got me hooked on "cozies". Also, puns. :)
I miss Miriam Grace Monfredo's Seneca Falls series. I also miss Sarah Stewart Taylor's Sweeney St. George series, but I'm still holding out hope for this one. I'd also add Alice Kimberly's Haunted Bookshop series. They keep promising, but at this point those promises seem more a unicorn than anything of substance.I'd also add the Jane Jeffry series because those were the first cozies I read. Although, I didn't enjoy the last few books in the series I always read them.
I could go on and one with my list.
I really enjoyed Donna Huston Murray Ginger Barnes series. I was really sad to see that one end. Also, I wish there were more of Lou Jane Temple's Heaven Lee Culinary mysteries.
And I am so sorry Camille Minichino stopped the Periodic Table mysteries.
Others I enjoyed and am so sorry there aren't any more were: Margaret Miles's Bracebridge Mysteries, Patricia Sprinkle's Sheila Travis Mysteries, Hannah March's Robert Fairfax mysteries, and Marne Davis Kellogg's Kick Keswick series.
Lynn wrote: "I really enjoyed Donna Huston Murray Ginger Barnes series. I was really sad to see Jo Dereskethat one end. Also, I wish there were more of Lou Jane Temple's Heaven Lee Culin..."
I'm another one who misses Donna Huston Murray's books. They were set in the area where I live so that made them more fun for me.
I haven't finished reading Jo Dereske's Miss Zukas series yet. I have three more to go and will be sad to finish this series.
I don't always keep up on the most current events related to authors' lives and so it is usually months after an author dies that I hear about it. I go on missing the series and wishing the author would write more when that is not possible. So an author I will very much miss is Elizabeth Peters. I enjoyed all her series, but in particular the Amelia Peabody books. I agree about Jane Jeffries.
Susan Wittig Albert's Beatrix Potter series. She did warn all of us who enjoyed this series that it was going to have a beginning and an end, but being an optimist I thought she might change her mind!!!!
Every once inawhile I go back over the list of books read and I wonder what happened that some authors just stopped writing; series or anything else. (I then check to see if they are still alive.)
What I read in passing, written by a cozy author I can't remember, is that many cozy authors have stopped writing because their publishing houes either don't see the profit or they want to publish straight to paperback when they were being published hardback first and then on to paperback.
When I read the first statement by an author on this I just figured "well, just her." But it seems quite prevalent. And even some very popular authors like Laurie King have noted that it is harder and harder to get published even if, at one time, your books were on the market. (Much less if you are new.)
Of course some cozy authors we have read, who may have published one or two books in the 90's say, may not be that great. But for the ones I enjoy, who maybe published five or six books that were popular, it seems like a pretty raw deal.
Ali wrote: "I miss Miriam Grace Monfredo's Seneca Falls series. I also miss Sarah Stewart Taylor's Sweeney St. George series, but I'm still holding out hope for this one. I'd also add Alice Kimberly's Haunted ..."I really enjoyed the Monfredo series. On the mark for historical mysteries. She wrote a couple of other series but I don't know if they are mysteries.
Lynn wrote: "And I am so sorry Camille Minichino stopped the Periodic Table mysteries."I haven't read this series yet but was sad to see it didn't continue on. However, the author did start a new series (perhaps under another pen name?). from her website here is the other series she recently started
As Ada Madison, she's published 4 novels in the Professor Sophie Knowles Mysteries, featuring college professor SOPHIE KNOWLES. The latest is THE QUOTIENT OF MURDER from Berkley Prime Crime. ( http://www.minichino.com/ )
I miss most of Tim Myers series: The soap making, the candlemaking, and the lighthouse inn series. I really moss the characters.
I recently read the last of the Helen West series by Frances Fyfield. Very sad, I loved these books.
Sparkle wrote: "I miss Lilian Jackson Braun and the 'Cat Who' series. :("Me too, but thrre are so many of them, I think I'll re-read my favourites.
I was sad to learn that James Doss passed away. I love his Charlie Moon series. There just aren't enough characters like Aunt Daisy.
Lynn, I had no idea there was a periodic table series. It's a shame there aren't more but I'm excited to give them a try since I teach chemistry!
I too enjoyed the chemistry series & bought the books whenever I found one.She lived above the funeral home in most of the books.
Nancy wrote: "I too enjoyed the chemistry series & bought the books whenever I found one.She lived above the funeral home in most of the books."
I also did not know about the series until I came across it here. Have started with the first one and recently finished the fifth (The Boric acid murder). I do think that it is best read in order as it is wonderful to see the characters and relationships develop with each book.
I have a bunch of series that were my favorites but are now discontinued: Murder Packs a Suitcase by Cynthia Baxter
Reigning Cats and Dogs by Cynthia Baxter
Supper Club by J.B. Stanley
Christine Bennett by Lee Harris
Jenny T. Partridge by Natalie M. Roberts
Ice Cream by Wendy Watson
Glassblowing by Sarah Atwell
Miss Zukas by Jo Dereske
K.M. wrote: "There's 2 series I was sad to see end:1) The Mrs. Pollifax series. Even though I have yet to read all in the series, I was sad when they stopped being published.
2) M. M. Kaye's Death In Series. T..."
The Mrs. Pollifax books are among those I always hopefully peer at on the library shelves, in hopes that a newly-discovered one will have magically appeared since the last time I looked. Alas, it never happens.
I miss the Amanda Pepper series by Gillian Roberts. I assume she is not writing them anymore. I also miss Jane Jefferies, and Ann George's southern sisters mysteries.
Lauren berenson last year I believe continued her series I saw an email from her sayi ng she is doing more.
Wendy Watson lives in my neck of the area and teaches at a university here. I should ask her if she is going to write any more
Leslie aka StoreyBook Reviews wrote: "Wendy Watson lives in my neck of the area and teaches at a university here. I should ask her if she is going to write any more"She has a new series under the name of Annie Knox. It's a pet series but I forgot the name of the series.
Blanche wrote: "I miss the Cat Who series by Lilian Jackson Braum and, from way back, Mary Roberts Rinehart."Agreed- those were two great series
I am also a fan of Mrs. Pollifax, The Cat Who..., and Amelia Peabody. I became a bigger fan of The Cat Who... when I learned more about Lilian Jackson Braun. I guess all good series must come to an end, but boo hoo anyway. I honestly didn't realize that Elizabeth Peters had another series until I read this thread, so now I must go check that out!
Elizabeth Peters is my favorite author and I miss her. She has several other books. My favorite is NAKED ONCE MORE Jacqueline Kirby series. She wrote for years paranormals and Victorian Gothic under the Barbara Michaels. I especially like ANNIE COME HOME.

FYI, the book is Ammie, Come Home.
I miss both series by Valerie Wolzien--she wrote the Susan Henshaw mysteries and the Josie Pigeon series. I don't know what happened. It seems she suddenly stopped having books published!
Margaret Maron has announced that her most recent Deborah Knott mystery will be the last! :/ It's a great series and I will miss it. The 20th and last one is Long Upon the Land
I love Barbara Michaels too! I grew up reading her gothic stuff and have most things she wrote under that pen name.
I will miss those series:- Soup Lovers Mysteries by Connie Archer
- Jennie Bentleys Do-It Yourself Mysteries
Both have been discarded by the publisher as far as I know.
And as it seems the Ashton Corners Book Club mysteries by Erika Chase and Laura Morrigans Call of the Wilde series won't be continued as well. Just sad :(
