I love Relentless :-) I have considered reading Karin Slaughter as well. I recently finished Tana French novels which I read out of order. I also read Stephen White's series out of order.
I am currently reading The 19th Wife. I'm from Southern Utah and can relate to the subject:

I am reading Dragon Tears after just finishing Strangers. I read them both years ago but I really enjoyed Strangers. What a wonderful novel! I love Dean Koontz' imagination! He definitely keeps you on your toes!!
Barbara wrote: "They are both in my top 10 all time favs Rebecca!! Reading Ashley Bell now!!!"Ive heard mixed reviews on Ashley Bell. How is it so far?
I am enjoying Ashley Bell.....trying not to read it too fast!! It reminds me....so far....of some of Dean's older books that I love....like One Door Away from Heaven.....I also like that I haven't figured out where he is going with this story!!!

I've read nearly all of Dean Koontz's books. I have Innocence, and I read Wilderness, which is the short story that inspired Innocence.
Just started
for the second time. First attempt was a DRC and the eyes couldn't handle it so I finally allowed myself to purchase a print copy. So excited about this one. I'm new to the group and didn't intro myself so hello everyone!

Hi Dustin, Thank you so much for the welcome. I found your group through an awesome Goodreads friends and so happy I did. I may not be able to keep up as much as I'd like or read the same books at the same time as everyone, but I'm happy to be here. Can't believe I didn't see this group sooner.
I'm not too far in with "Ashley Bell" yet due to family emergencies, and other issues, but so far I'm loving it. It's Koontz! :) Love love love. I hope you get to it soon and enjoy it!
Promise I won't go off topic again after this post. Apologies. A hard habit to break with all the stuff going on in my head and nobody offline to talk to.
Thank you for the welcome reply :)

Here in Koontzland, we are not very strict about "off topic" because in the Koontz world everything is connected.
Not to worry about being extremely active. Everyone has a life outside of Koontzland. Sometimes, I am offline for days at a time when I am putting in a lot of hours at work. Sometimes other group members are gone for months at a time and then are back. Time is all relative here and we'll be here whenever you have time for Koontz.

I'm currently reading Await Your Reply, a book I've read several times. It's my favorite book.
I will be reading Ashley Bell next :-)
I will be reading Ashley Bell next :-)
Ghettoside by Jill Leovy, non-fiction. A quite possibly 5 star review from me, about the problem of black men being murdered at such high rates. Written very well, easy to read because of the writing, difficult reading because of the subject matter. NOT "dry".I believe this book should be taught in classes, maybe even be required reading. It's a sensitive to those families suffering this type of loss, and fair to all, regardless of race. The author lists the appalling facts (which is much higher than you'd think), and also presents the social atmosphere, real names in most cases (keeping safe those who are in danger still), and shows how the LAPD works on these cases.
It's written in an un-emotional manner, which allows me to continue reading without crying my eyes out (though these are difficult-to-recover-from losses).
And you definitely feel for these people! These are REAL people, no made-up characters. The author is a reporter for the LA Times.

I pick up on different things every time I read it and I still enjoy it - for me that is the mark of a good book. I do like strange things :-) and I can really relate to the book. I read Await Your Reply about once a year.

Yes! Kirby Heybourne - I knew of him from Utah because he is a well-known Mormon Actor & Narrator. Have heard him narrate other audiobooks. I think he does well :-)

Actually, I watched Episode One last night and enjoyed it. Apparently Fox offer some episodes for FREE approx. 24 hours after airing as long as your willing to view some commercials.
I love a good conspiracy. The Truth Is Out There.

I love Full Dark, No Stars :-) There is are Big Driver and A Good Marriage movies available if you want to watch them.
Here's why I'm reading
It was the March Freebie for Amazon Prime members. About half of the books I've chosen were good, the rest so-so.This is a good one. Genre is police procedural but there's more than a dash of office politics in it. I'm not through with it yet but your should pick it up, especially when its free this month.

I'm reading a James Rollins book called The Bone Labyrinth. Very interesting science and his action is always fun and exciting....not a Dean book but he is a favorite author in my family
Catching up on both Martin Cruz Smith and filling in a couple Michael Connely books I missed in the Bosch series. After reading the Arkady Renko books, I have to conclude they hold up much better than Harry does.Connelly has some bad literary habits that I share with him and have to tell the editor to write them out. I can't stand "that" and "had" and "that had" is definitely red pencil stuff. When Connelly uses these they stand out like a tarantula on an angel food cake.

LIGHTNING by Koontz is one of my favorites. It is one of the early ones that was published in his own name...I think. I loved that one...you might like it.

I just finished a Paranormal Thriller by an author I, previously, had not yet heard of (Mark McGinnis) called Mad Powers. It was a fantastic, deeply engaging and fast-paced thriller with awesome characters. The novel creates a story line whereby what is going on in and throughout the novel could very well be going on in the world today. While many books have the ability to do that... I found this one to deliver even more. I downloaded it from Amazon back in July of 2015 but just got to reading it. I see the author has since come out with a second book in the series called Deadly Powers and even though I do not have it yet (with so many other books to read) I hope to read it ASAP.
