Allan had always been a composed child. He took his time with everything, never minding how much he was pestered about completing his tasks. This was upsetting to some in the royal family since he was the firstborn; Allan was to take the throne one day and was expected to lead his kingdom through the best and worst of times. Allan's collectiveness was seen as a weakness to some.
Then one by one his siblings were born. Allan felt that the pace of the royal life speed up. There was more people around, more formal parties, and the like. Allan knew that he had to keep up with the pace of all that was going around. He was adaptable to any situation, easily shifting from one mindset to another. It kind of surprised the people who thought his collectiveness was a weakness, but their opinions on Allan changed when they saw how easily Allan managed his tasks with such calm composure.

In the eye of the public she is their beautiful Lady Jocelyn, to her siblings she is their soft spoken and gentle sister. Above all things, however, Jocelyn is compassionate, and from that compassion comes her courage and strength. She knows that what her brother, the King, is doing is wrong and can't stand to sit by and let it happen. Jocelyn has a strong will and if her siblings can't recognize it, it might just be their downfall.

Opposites attract. The perfect statement when talking about the friendship between Minhyuk and Malachi. The two childhood and best friends complement each other in more ways than one. They trust and work well with each other. And all the more so when their parents were killed for being magicians and the two had to escape to Rhin. They traveled around with a group of performers, having been hired for measly tasks before they learned tricks from the performers and was able to perform in shows.
Minhyuk has a telepathic connection with Malachi, a link that works because their friendship is strong; it doesn't work with anyone else. He has the ability to switch two objects, as long as he have touched the objects before, are within distance of him, and the area he's in is not too crowded. Minhyuk also has the ability to slightly enhance his sense similar to that of animals, the strongest being those related to the feline family.⊰Performer (Acrobat)⊱![]()

Parents both murdered for having the devil's mark when he was young, Malachi escaped Asrar with his childhood friend, Minhyuk, and joined a group of traveling performers. Malachi and Minhyuk eventually became acrobats, after watching and learning from others. Living on the move and on the streets the only person Malachi can trust is his friend. Malachi has a few magical abilities such as a telepathic connection with his friend Malachi, a link created due to their strong bond, a little telekinetic skill, and the ability to slightly enhance his sense similar to that of animals, the strongest being those related to the canine. Malachi also has the unique ability locate hidden objects by seeing through things.

The carriage rode through the streets of the city towards the castle, it's windows covered. Without knowing who was inside, everyone who saw the carriage knew who they were from, for it bore the royal seal of Asrar. Inside the silk lined carriage, Jocelyn sat silently with her hands on her lap, across from her sat her lady-in-waiting as well as her royal guard. She had come to the city of Rhin as an ambassador for Asrar, in hopes of negotiating with the King. Tensions between the two neighboring kingdoms were high, as refugees flocked from one kingdom to the other. While it may not be on the horizon, war threatened it's way into people's hearts and minds. Jocelyn had to convince her brother to allow her to travel to Rhin as an ambassador. What her brother didn't know, however, was that Jocelyn had other reasons to come to Rhin. If he were to ever found out what business Jocelyn was being involved in, she could very well be hanged for treason against the crown. That was something Jocelyn was willing to risk, for her loyalty did not lay to the crown, but to the people of her kingdom.
After slowing to a stop, the door to the carriage was opened. "Milady," a well dressed man spoke as he offered his hand to Jocelyn, helping her out of the carriage. There she was, in the halls of the castle of Rhin, a place she hadn't visited since she was merely a small child. Nevertheless, the walls were just as tall and magnificent, as one would expect from the wealthy lords of Rhin. Jocelyn followed the man who had help her out of the carriage into the halls of the great castle, with her lady-in-waiting and guard close behind her on either side. There were numerous lords and ladies, as she entered the court yard. This was the court of Rhin, and these were their court members, those of wealth and fortune. Even at a first glance, Jocelyn could sense the state of the court was different that her own. In Asrar the court appeared to be normal, but Jocelyn could see the underlying sadness and tension among it's members, in accordance to the recent events. The court of Rhin, it seemed, was in a better state.
Jocelyn walked the grace and prestige, as a Princess of Asrar would be expected to, and she was the eldest daughter of the late King. These were not her lady and lords, but Jocelyn greeted them with warm and cutesy. Despite this act, beneath the surface Jocelyn carefully examined the people of the court, deciding where their loyalties laid and whom she could trust. Jocelyn had a few allies among those in the court of Rhin, whom she corresponded with frequently. Those letter, however, were secret and those she corresponded were unaware of her identity, and knew her only as the friend from Asrar.

Allan had been anticipating Princess Jocelyn's arrival to the Rhin Kingdom ever since the news was brought up in the last court meeting between the men of the royal court. As Crown Prince of Rhin, he needed to gather as much information as he could to help both his people and Jocelyn's people. Allan made a promise to the Friend of Asrar recently that Rhin will try their best to help the Asrar refugees. Who else could he talk to about such matters? The king of Rhin? Honestly, Allan thought his father was a little nuts; the king seemed normal, but his mind was a different matter. Allan could speak with the Crown Prince of Asrar, but the two princes weren't exactly on close terms. There was always some tension between them. Jocelyn, on the other hand, he was more than comfortable around her. Allan enjoyed her company, whether it was for tea or some political matters. She was easier to talk to, and one whom he could trust.
Looking down through his bedroom window (he was taking a break from his paperwork), Allan saw the Asrar carriage, which was carrying Princess Jocelyn inside, entered the castle grounds. He smiled to himself, glad to see that Jocelyn had arrived safely. Allan quickly walked out of his bedroom and headed for the courtyard to greet the princess. By the time he stepped into the courtyard, Princess Jocelyn was already greeting those of the court with warmth. Allan could spot her easily; she stood out from the lords and ladies of Rhin's court, who were always relaxed and calm, or seemed to be. Jocelyn, having been under some pressure and tension with the current state of Asrar, held a different air around her. And her clothes were different from Rhin's so that was an obvious detail.
"Princess Jocelyn!" Allan called out as he walked towards her. "Welcome to Rhin! I hope the ride from Asrar wasn't too exhausting and burdensome. Would you like to head to the dining room for some food if you're hungry?" He finished with a warm smile. He nodded at Jocelyn's guard and lady-in-waiting, acknowledging their presence behind their princess.

Turning towards Allan as she heard him call her name, Jocelyn curtsied to the Crown Prince of Rhin. "Greetings Prince Allan. Rhin is as beautiful as I remember," Jocelyn responded warmly to the prince, then added,"And food would be most welcomed for my companions." Jocelyn hadn't seen much of Allan, since the death of her father only a small time ago. Everything seemed to be moving so fast, the death of her parents, her brother taking the crown, the beginning of the Purge. A time before this was almost a lifetime ago to Jocelyn, and it was difficult to realize that it had all happened quite so recently. Allan, of course, was as tall and regal as ever, always collected and with his wits at hand. While you'd be hard pressed to get Jocelyn to admit it, she felt a small bit of fondness for the Crown Prince of Rhin. He was a refreshing contrast to what she'd been experiencing in Asrar.

"Shall we head to the dining room then?" Allan asked as he step to the side for Jocelyn and her companions to walk first. "We can have a simple chat while we have tea. It should relax you for a bit." A good host puts his guests' needs first, and knowing Allan, he could easily pull it off--anything really. Though he'd rather be along with Jocelyn, who looked as stunning and calm as the last last time he saw her, before the Purge. This quality of hers was like his collectiveness, but with the situation in Asrar, Jocelyn would need some peace and entertainment to keep her spirits up. Allan hoped that he could do achieve that during her stay in Rhin. "I heard that you will be staying for some days," Allan started. "Do you know how long you will be staying?"

"It would be pleasure." Jocelyn smiled, nodding to Allan in thanks for his hospitality as a host. Whether the others who live in Rhin would be as forthcoming and gracious to her, has remained to be seen. When Jocelyn had ridden through the city of Rhin, she noticed the amount of people on the streets, the city seemed to be filling up. The cause of such a thing, was of course the Purge that was forcing people to migrate to Rhin in order to escape. Her people. The people of the court might show her smiles and laughter to her face, but behind her back she was aware that there would be those who sneer and scoff.
"I'll be staying for however long it takes to get the task done." Jocelyn spoke with vague determination, not quite answering the Prince's question. "Either that or until I overstay my welcome." She added with small smile. There were two tasks she was meant to orchestrate. As an ambassador for Asrar, it was her duty make sure that the two kingdoms remained in good relations. Secondly, however, though first in her mind, she was in the Kingdom of Rhin in order to strengthening her connections with her allies. It was about time that they met face to face, but not at first, that would have to wait for awhile until she determined the state of the kingdom of Rhin.
Jocelyn stopped and turned to her lady-in-waiting. "Go to my chambers and prepare them for me, make sure everything is ready for my arrival," Jocelyn spoke gently to her lady-in-waiting, while discretely time slipping something into her hands. Jocelyn would trust her lady-in-waiting with her life, if it came to that.

Allan listened attentively to Jocelyn as the group of four walked down the hallways to the dining room. He nodded when she finished, saying, "Take as long as you need for your business here," Allan replied with a smile. "You're always welcome here Princess Jocelyn." Despite her answer being somewhat vague, Allan didn't try to pry into her matters. It was her privacy and decision not to share, and it wouldn't do if he were to question the details. Plus, the princess was benevolent, how could people turn her away?
Allan waited for Jocelyn to finish talking with her lady-in-waiting before they continued on. They weren't far from the dining room now, perhaps another ten feet and a turn would bring them to their destination. He hoped there was already food prepared or nearly completed so Jocelyn and her guard wouldn't have to wait for long.

Jocelyn watched as her lady-in-waiting walked down the hallway to prepare her rooms. They were treading in dangerous waters now, but recently Jocelyn has become accustomed to ebb and flow of such tides. Jocelyn had slipped a piece of paper into her lady-in-waiting's hands giving specific instructions on what was to be done. Tread cautiously, my dear friend. Jocelyn sent her thoughts after her lady-in-waiting. They have known each other ever since they were little girls, she was Jocelyn's closest friend and most trusted ally. There was no need for Jocelyn to worry, however, for her lady-in-waiting could handle herself expertly. In the next few days, each of her contacts in Rhin will receive unexpected notes from their Friend from Asrar. Soon after, they'll be put to the test to see whether or not they could be trusted.
Turning her attention back to the waiting form of Allan, Jocelyn offered a smile, "That is most gracious of you Prince, though I dare offer that perhaps not everyone in Rhin share your hospitality." Jocelyn was no fool, and was well taught in the ways of the court. Those of court will smile to your face while speaking venomous words in private. These were dangerous times, and Jocelyn remained wary of those who claimed to be friends. The King of Asrar, her brother, had recently gained all sorts of new friends who professed their loyalty to the crown, but Jocelyn sensed the poison behind the words and watched silently as they fed upon the madness growing inside her brother's heart.
"I wouldn't blame them either, the sister of the Mad King coming to Rhin" Jocelyn continued with a humerus glint in her eye,"Let there be no had feelings. Shall we continue on to the dinning room? I fear my guard might very well faint from hunger before complaining." Jocelyn exclaimed, patting the shoulder of her guard softly before commencing to walk down the halls once more. The corridors were well furnished with fine carpets and decorated walls, there hung portraits of royalty, beautiful paintings, and intricate murals.

While Jocelyn's attention was on her lady-in-waiting, Allan's attention was on Jocelyn's guard. Allan studied the man, wondering how good a protector he must be to work as Jocelyn's personal guard. With such a position, the guard would not only have to be reliable but trustworthy as well. Allan began to think what it would be like he were to have a simple spar against the guard; who was stronger? Perhaps Allan could learn a move or two from the guard to add to his inventory.
"Perhaps," Allan replied when Jocelyn turned back to him, shifting his attention back to the princess. "but if there's ever a situation or something that brings you discomfort, do tell me and I'll tend to it as best as I could." They resumed walking. "It wouldn't do if you were to withhold your discomfort during your stay here." Jocelyn was a special guest and one who hasn't visited for a quite a while. As he hoped earlier, Allan wanted to make her sojourn in Rhin as pleasant as possible.
They made the turn and the doors to the dining room stood not far away. A door was opened and the smell of fresh baked cookies wafted out. "Well, he's not in danger," Allan said with a smile, amused by Jocelyn's statement. That was another good trait of hers: her compassion for others. There were a rare few in the nobility who would care for those working for them. "It seems that there are cookies already prepared." Allan finished as he led Jocelyn and the guard into the dining room. He pulled out a chair in front of the tray of cookies and tea for Jocelyn. Manners of a gentleman.
"I hope they fit to your tastes," Allan continued. "The cooks, I believe, are starting to prepare for dinner tonight. Seeing as how we have guests, they will prepare more food to accommodate everyone."

"How kind of you," Jocelyn responded to Allan, offering a smile similar to the warmth of a late afternoon sun. "I'll be sure to take you up on your offer if it comes to it." Jocelyn watched Allan, carefully taking note of what she saw in her mind. He had grown since she last saw him. Jocelyn remembered a short time when she was taller than him, and how it had vexed him so. The very next summer, however, he'd had a growth spurt and stood a head taller than her. The corner of Jocelyn mouth crinkled softly in amusement. Oh how the times have changed, they were no longer children. Now when Jocelyn looked at Allan, she saw a young man who would someday be King. It was in the way he stood, it called forth a combination of regal respect and authority. Allan was far from the young boy she used to know, his shoulders had broadened and his features were sharpened. She had to admit, he'd become rather attractive now that he was becoming a man. Jocelyn pursed her lips at the notion and kept the thought to herself.
"I must admit I am quite famish myself." Jocelyn laughed, there was a very unladylike growl threatening to emerge form Jocelyn's stomach at the aroma of freshly baked cookies wafting through the air. It would seem that her guard wasn't the only one in danger. at the sounds of her stomach. "Cookies? Do I dare?" Jocelyn shot Allan a mocking look, as he lead them into the Dinning room and pulled a chair out for her. Once seated, Jocelyn picked one of the cookies off of the tray and took a bite. "Mmmm, I do."
"They fit my taste just fine. You can tell your cooks that they are wonderful at their job, and I simply cannot wait to savor whatever they have in store for dinner." Jocelyn stated, complimenting the cooks. The cookies were indeed quite good. "These cookies are a blessing after a long ride on the road."
![[ constellation mokke ] (plueblue02) | 728 comments](https://images.gr-assets.com/users/1608355834p1/6235894.jpg)
After Jocelyn was seated, Allan went around the table to sit in front of her. Thank goodness the tray wasn't put in the center of the dining table but at the end. By the time Allan got to the other side, Jocelyn and the guard would already be finished eating. He made a mental note to thank whoever put the tray at the end.
Allan watched Jocelyn as she ate the cookies. Now that they weren't walking and side by side, he could look at her better. Jocelyn's gracefulness and her pretty features seemed to be magnified more after having not seen her in so long. And with the passing of time, Jocelyn seemed more beautiful. Her eyes were always the first to catch his attention; they had an irresistible... Charm. Allan supposed that it was because she was older now, becoming more mature and woman-like than when they were young years ago. He can't simply explain the feeling when they were together, he could only feel it. And he had to force himself out of his nice little thoughts to pay attention to the now.
"They'd be pleased to hear it," Allan responded, feeling proud of their cooks. "If they're a blessing after a journey, then would it be like heaven if you were to bring a batch of fresh cookies on your return home? You wouldn't feel famished either on a long ride." He paused. Jocelyn was nearly done with her snack and he would need something to accompany her with until dinner. "Ah, chess. It's been maybe even longer than the last time I saw you since we played a game. What do you say to a game or two out in the garden?"

There was something about the discussion of their marriage.
And about Jocelyn revealing her identity.
