I remember reading this book in either 4th or 5th grade, and it's been so long that I can't even remember the school I was going to anymore. But, I remember reading this book about a little girl who befriends a little ghost girl, and I remember the little girl being somewhat frightened at one point because the ghost girl was trying to show her how she died, and I think something happened, and the little girl went back in time to the little ghost girl's birthday party, (the day in which she died, if I remember correctly) And she figured out what happened, and at the very end of the book, she either found some paperwork or a newspaper or something containing the ghost girl's name, and then she visits the ghost girl's grave. I am desperate to find the name and author of this story because it is one of my all time favorites, and I would like to read it again.

I found the name of it! It's called Stonewords: A Ghost Story

I wonder if this was a popular theme for a while because the description also sounds a lot like Wait Till Helen Comes.

Ah I want to read that one, since it was written by Mary Downing Hahn, who has also written "The old Willis place" which is a fantastic ghost story. I was extremely into ghost and mystery stories in my 4th and 5th grade years.
