SOLVED Children's or YA novel. Girl moves in with father, house run by a computer called "house cat", she loves X-Files and Doc Martens. [s]

This book was published in the 1990's (possibly in the late 1980's but that is a stretch). It is about a girl who moves in with her father (whom I don't think she really knew prior). I don't remember the plot but the elements that stand out are:

-Her father built a computer into the house called "house cat" and the computer responds really well to the main character, so much so that she can hold an informal conversation with it while every one else has to say "house cat please turn on the lights" or something along those lines.

-She rebels a bit, not a lot, but enough to get a pair of Doc Martens and have an appreciation for punk aesthetics.

-She loves X-Files and views Scully as a role model.

-The main character has an adult female friend (or confidant of some kind. Possibly father's friend or girlfriend).

Things that I am not positive that I remember correctly:
-Possibly set in England.

-Mostly real world setting with some cyberpunk elements (I mean come on, the house is a sentient computer).

What was the main plot of the story? The girl getting to know her father, something with the computer, her relationship with her friend, etc?

When searching, I found a book called Black Ice. Even though the description doesn't mention it, the worldcat tags included "computers."
