Its a book about a girl who lives in a community of people who all have special abilities. She likes this guy who is telekinetic and her dad can detect the truth. It is a community that is hidden from the human world but is right next to it. Her mum and dad break up and he works for their government tracking bad guys down so he moves outside the community and is working on finding this criminal who is kidnapping people and stealing powers. Her parents ask her to choose who she wants to live with. so she uses her power to look down two paths for about a month and see which she would prefer. When she lives with her dad she finds a cute boy but in the end her best freind dies. When she stays with her mum she doesnt die. When she comes out of her trance, she writes a note to herself and tells her best freind (who can erase memories) to remove her memory of both paths and give her the letter when the time is right. Im pretty sure it was written in the last 5 years.
