Hi! I'm Makayla. Do you just want me to call you Jasmine or is there something else you prefer?
Okay, cool!
So do you have any ideas or preferences?
So do you have any ideas or preferences?
Off the top of my head, no.I usually end up doing romance, even if I don't intend to, but there needs to be a plot as well. I don't like just romance with no other plot to the story. I'm fine with realistic or supernatural.
What about you?
I do romance too, but I'm not a big fan of completely romance centered RP's either.
Realistic is cool, so is supernatural.... I'm fine with anything.
I also don't like diving straight into doubles, so if we could start with just one character each that would be great.
I'm afraid I'm kind of brain dead right now, I don't really have any ideas.

Jasmine? I know we agreed on busy, but four days...
Sorry! I'm trying to get through the college application process at the moment, so I really haven't had any time to do much of anything else aside from homework. I'm perfectly fine on gradually working our way into doubles. Honestly, I've never rp'd too much with doubles, so it'll be a somewhat new thing for me to do. I have very little experience with it, so please bear with me on that.
If we're both cool with either realistic or supernatural then that's cool. Would you mind if we tried something supernatural? I haven't had one of those rp's in quite a while.
Whoa, college? How old are you?
It's cool, I was just making sure you hadn't forgotten.
Don't worry, the only RP's I've ever done (which is few, to tell you the truth) have all been with just one character each, except for once.
Okay, we can do supernatural. If you don't mind, though, not zombies. I think the apocalypse thing is a little overdone.

I'm 17.Nope, I haven't forgotten! I'm constantly thinking about goodreads haha come November I think I'll be able to get on more frequently.
I'm perfectly fine staying away from the apocalyptic scene. It's definitely being a bit overdone.
I'm 14, turning 15 in November haha
Okay, so if apocalypse is ruled out, what other supernatural things are you interested in?

I'll do vampire or werewolf, which in itself is being a but overdone as well. Could be done well, could go bad.I've done sort of paranormal plots.
Plots where people have powers and the government is out to get them.
That's all that's coming to me at the moment.
I was actually thinking that something different would be mermaids, for some reason. Sounds silly, but I've always sort of liked the idea.
I like those sorts of plots, too, where the characters are on the run.

If you'd like to try doing something with mermaids I would definitely be up for that. I think it could turn out to be really interesting! Did you have any specific plot in mind, or just the idea of mermaids?
Cool, mermaids sounds good!
Well, if you like the 'on the run from the government' type plots, I suppose we could work with that.
For example: Hundreds of years ago, mermaids were a commonly accepted creature of the sea. However, in the present day, they are dismissed as merely a myth, just a figment of the ignorant ancient times' imagination. The truth?
Believing them to be a threat, the government had all traces of mermaids destroyed from the oceans, but unbeknownst to them, a small group still reside, hidden away in the Pacific Ocean (or any ocean, it doesn't matter). What happens when a disbelieving fisherman catches sight of these beautiful, supposedly mythical creatures?

Continued - does he fall in love with one and help protect her and her family/friends? Does he go to the government with this information, and is interviewed strenuously before being killed, so he can't release this information? Does he not say anything at all? Does he help lure them to the government so that they, too, can be wiped out like their ancestors?
I like the idea! Given that we do doubles, that could also allow for each of us to have one mermaid character and one human. I think it has a lot of potential. Random thought, but I think it'd be pretty interesting if somewhere down the line a government official does find it, but he's sort of on the fence about whether he's going to let anyone know or not.
Just random thoughts, haha.
Cool! I wasn't sure if it was good or not. So we need the fisherman, a main mermaid character, and one more of each. Male or female?
I thought that too, it would definitely make it more interesting. Maybe the fisherman sees something that makes him think the mermaids are evil, and he tells an official? Or maybe he has a friend in the government who has always had an interest in mythical creatures, so so he confides in him?

If we're working up to doubles, the other human could be the government official, and the other mermaid be the main mermaid's friend?
I like the idea that the fisherman had a friend who's a government official, and that official has always been interested in mythological creatures. In terms or working up to doubles, that's exactly what I was thinking in terms of the characters.
We'd just have to figure out genders for each. For the main mermaid I was thinking it would be a girl, and the fisherman a guy. It would be cool to then flip the genders to have the next human a girl and the other mermaid a guy, but I had it in my head that the government official would be a guy for some reason. What's your thinking on genders?
Okay, cool.
I was thinking the same thing with the main mermaid and a fisherman, but then I was thinking that the other mermaid would be a girl and official be a boy, too, and then we would each do a human and a mermaid giving us one boy character and one girl character. If we flipped the genders, then either one of us would have to play both humans and the other both mermaids, or one play girls and the other play boys.

Hang on... I've confused myself.
Yes! I'm so so sorry. I read your comment, I swear I did. Then I just got busy ._.Anyway, I think I get what you were saying, and it makes complete sense!
Is there a specific character you'd be interested in playing?
It's okay! Just making sure you hadn't left.
Okay, thank god! I somehow managed to confuse myself, I wasn't sure if it made sense.
Hmm... I think I'd like to be the fisherman. Or the main mermaid. I don't really mind, you can pick first.

I did want to be the government official, for no real reason honestly. Other than that it doesn't matter to me. I could do the government official and the main mermaid, and you do the fisherman and the mermaids friend. That way we both get a lead character and a supporting one.
Okay cool, I'll be the fisherman. I don't really know what role the mermaids friend is going to play though. I just suggested it so that there would be 2 characters each.
Ah, that makes sense. We could try to come up with a role for them right now, or we could just roll with it and figure it out as we go along.
Hmmm.. could we brainstorm a couple of ideas? Then I'll just roll with whatever direction it goes.
They could be the one to constantly tell the main mermaid to watch out and all that, because the possibility of being seen by a human is dangerous.Maybe it's illegal or extremely discouraged that mermaids ever talk to humans, so once the main mermaids friend finds out that she's seen/been talking to a human, they're torn between keeping the secret and telling someone higher.
Ah... so the main mermaid is very curious about the human world (kind of like Ariel from the little mermaid) whereas her friend is very cautious and law-abiding, and doesn't want Mermaid A going near the humans in case she is killed.
Okay, that sounds good!
Do you want to keep brainstorming more of the plot, or do you want to start doing characters?
Do you want to keep brainstorming more of the plot, or do you want to start doing characters?
Maybe we could brainstorm enough to figure out how we'd like to start off the rp, and then go into making our characters.
That sounds good, but I have to go now (lunchtime) I'll be back in like 45 minutes.
No problem! If I'm not here when you get back it's because I fell asleep. Seems like there's a huge time difference between us! Haha
Okay so now for you it would be... around 5:30pm , but for me its 9:44 am
It's 9:06 pm right now.. Is it about 11:44 am over there? Just trying to get an idea haha I used to talk to someone who lived in Australia, so I used to know the time difference, but it's been a while.
No.. when you posted that it was like 1:10pm haha
I give up on this haha all I know is that when I'm getting ready to go to bed, you're going to be awake.
Yea, pretty much how it works haha so how do you want to start the RP?
That's a good question. Hmm, let's see. We could just jump right into it with the fisherman out fishing, which leads to him seeing the mermaid maybe?
Okay, so my character would be fishing. And the mermaid could decide that she wanted another glimpse of the human world, and swim up to the surface, and that would be when the fisherman sees her. Does that sounds good for our first posts?
Okay, so do you want to start?
You can start if that's alright. I'm not home right now, and I don't like trying to start rp's from my phone. I can't accurately judge how long my post is.
Okay, it'll be a couple of hours though. I'm at school, and I have some work to do
