古龙

The first issue is there are two pages referring to the same author. (GR policy?)
The second issue is there are many duplicates. His novels have been republished a few times. User just keep adding new book title instead of using the original novel title.
For the novel 绝代双骄, I can find all these entries:
古龙文集·绝代双骄(套装共4册)
古龙文集·绝代双骄 (4 individual entry)
The Legendary Twins

The same for 陆小凤 series:
古龙文集·陆小凤传奇1:金鹏王朝 (plus 6 additional entries)
陸小鳳系列
Lu Xiaofeng

I'm not sure how Goodreads organize Chinese books, because the title can be written in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Pinyin (with/without tone), English translated. Here's my suggestion:

1. "Original title" should always in Traditional Chinese, since the author originally published in Taiwan. The original title should not be book title, but the novel title.

2. I guess the rest of book details can be in Simplified Chinese (for searching purpose), but no pinyin nor English translated title (unless the book is translated).

3. Book title should always be novel title. If there is Book 1/2/3 like that, they should be added as new edition. So, don't put series title, 精品集, 古龙文集, 上中下, etc. Series title should be in "Work Setting: Series".

4. Author name in Traditional Chinese (古龍), same reason as (1).

5. Add novel series (e.g. 小李飛刀, 楚留香, 七种武器, etc).

6. In addition to (1), the default edition preferably is generic (e.g. something like 七剑下天山), not the one published recently. This is unless you found those old edition.

#4 is incorrect. Please see https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/2...
Authors with books published in multiple languages should have their names dealt with similarly to those with pen names. All editions should have the primary author name as the standard or most common Roman (that is, English-language) version of the author's name. Editions published under another spelling of the name or the name in another language should have that name listed as the secondary author. Different editions of a book not having the same primary author can cause quite a few distinct problems. Please keep the primary author for all editions of a work the same.

I am also moving this thread to a folder where someone with the necessary language skills is more likely to see it (and editing the subject).
