Romanized author names

There needs to be a way to combine an author whose name is written in their original language with their romanized name. There are so many authors out there who have 2 profiles and multiple copies of the same book. I know that one is supposed to list the romanized name under the 1st author and then any other names under the second author, but this takes a long time to fix. It would be much easier if there was a way to simply combine two authors.

Either that, or it should not be possible to input anything except letters from the Roman alphabet in the Author box.

It is GR policy to maintain Author profiles in different languages, these should never be merged.

There is an outstanding development request to have a AKA feature but until that happens maintaining different language profiles is policy

I guess what I meant was that there should be a way to link author profiles, which I assume is your AKA feature. But there are so many duplicate books because of this, that it becomes impossible to organize.
