I read a book when I was in primary school in the 1980s about a woman who time travels back in time to a tribe of some sort, I think celtic, but then ends up returning to present time. Similar story line to Playing Beatie Bow but definitely not that one

Was this a children's book? And was the main character a grown woman or a girl? And where did this take place? If it's Celtic, was the main character from Ireland or somewhere else?

Does sound a little like Outlander, though I don't know that a primary school kid would read that. Kit, did you solve this?
Could it be Saturday, the Twelfth of October, by Norma Fox Mazer? The only book my mother ever took away from me, because she thought it was a bit too advanced. (I just went back and took it out again).
Thousand Camps also has a tribe, but it's not about a girl or woman by herself. We still don't know if this is YA or adult fiction?
