No rush, PI's. It's just that someone wants my copy of Monogram Murders. Maybe I can rely on you lot to help me with the wrap. ;-)

Done! I won't spoil but someone wanted my book so I had to mail it off. I'm here for the wrap but I'll need your help, PI's.

Anastasia (anastasiaruff) | 241 comments A bit disappointed in the ending. Really in the end there were not a lot of suspects so was not difficult. A lot of the clues were related to grammar and speech which is not really Poirots forte as often Hastings would need to correct him or explain a phrase in Agatha Christie's books. I think I would have appreciated the mystery more without Poirot and without it being classed with Agatha Christie as I think the author did not really capture the style required.

Anastasia, the reveal and wrap were a little jangled for my tastes but in all, the ends were tied off.

James | 9 comments I think the loose ends were tied, but the ending was no big surprise to me. As I said in my review on my site, there wasn't an 'oooh' or 'a-ha' moment. I don't want to spoil anything if people are still reading the novel, but the involvement of certain person(s) was the little 'huh?' for me. It wasn't a surprise, more like a 'come on!' for me. lol. I hope you all know what I'm referring to.

As Anastasia said, there weren't many suspects in "Monogram". Compare that to Poirot novel "Cat Among the Pigeons". I think that's the AC novel that has the most suspects (and characters). I do love the characters in the novel. From the ones who inhabit village of Great Holling to the Bloxham's employees. Sophie Hannah writes characters really well. Not so much Poirot, as we all agree. His traits and mannerisms are all there, but it's all too much, you know? Poirot in "Monogram" is a personification, but not the character. As for Catchpool, I like his character. I just do. Is he dim in the head? Sure. Great policeman? Not really--needs more experience. I still think he should've sought for help from the police force in the village. I still have a problem with that.

More of my thoughts are coming. Can anyone else here leave comments on the novel or the epilogue?
