If I remember correctly it wasn't until King Henry? told him he never slept with his wife, that he believed she was his daughter. I would imagine if the brothers believed she was only their half sister and a bastard one at that...they probably didn't have a lot to do with her.Yeah, I didn't get why should would have to think for even one second about going or staying. Screw the old man...even if she wasn't his daughter he had no right to treat her as he did. McKinnon even thought about that and how the child is never at fault.
Loved St Vincent. I would hope he would be a little smoother then that. Besides the h in The Devil was a little more sophisticated then this one. She would have looked bored or laughed in his face. Her father owned a gaming hall/ brothel.Page was a young virgin and I think that move would frighten her. It's just not romantic. It's cloddish. If that's a word.

There's no denying the groping scene was a bit crude, but it really didn't bother me. Another book, another hero, and I would've probably found it really offensive. It's weird how much I will let slide depending on the story.
So, Noreen is Iain's former sister in law the heroine of book 2?
Like I said I would have liked to have had more background info about the wife and her relationship with Iain's evil cousin. Lagan thought to himself that he had worked hard to get Iain's late wife hate and fear Iain, but I wanted to know exactly what he said and did to induce that fear.
As for Iain not having sex, I think he was so mentally tortured by his wife's suicide that he just didn't want to go there with a woman. It's no small thing to have a woman prefer to kill herself rather than lie with you again. Talk about mental torture!

BTW I'm glad you all got the extra freebies yesterday. COURTING TROUBLE sounds like it might be a hoot and the PROTECTOR one sounds really good too. A mute heroine with a H who is her guardian. Sounds yummy, delicious! Let's hope the author doesn't screw it up!

The Ultimate bad boy would being trying to turn her on. That move would be a turn off. He also would not had gone 6 years w/o sex. He was having a hard time going for something like 60 or 90 days without.
They're both heroes but from two different camps.

Yes, once the father confronted King Henry and he said he never had sex with Page's mother, that's when the father accepted that Page was his. Again that entire situation was a bit cloudy. I mean was this his wife that bore him his sons, or a new one? One of the things the father said that made me wonder, was he wondered why Page's mother would want to be with him, when she had a King sniffing after her. That made me think that maybe she was a new wife--his sons being of a different wife, maybe.

Thanks, Kate! I think my library may actually have a copy also, but it's always on waitlist. I just haven't been in the mood to read it as yet, so I never put it on hold. At least I'm almost positive that I did check and that they do have it. I'll have to check again soon. It's one of those popular books--no surprise there.
Ladies, I'm sorry I had to miss the end of our discussion. It was fun though, we should do it again with another book soon. It's kindof aggravating not being able to talk in live time though, and always having to refresh the page to see if there are any new comments. I wish GR had IM like FB. That would be just about perfect! Speaking of FB, are we all on FB? If we are, maybe we could have a "live" discussion there next time. Any thoughts?

Fitzsimon's should have stepped up sooner the damage he'd caused was done IMO. Iain was a sure thing and with him she had a complete family.

My library sent out on my request for the audio version and it was fun. Let me know when you get it I want to know what you think. But start with Secrets of a Summer Night. This begins the series, than it goes to It Happened One, [book:Devil in Winter Autumn|827412]is the 3rd. The 4th was lillians younger sister and wasn't that great IMO. It is better to read them in order there are things that happen to the girls in each book that is referred to in the next book.

ROTFL Kate that's the way you REMEMBER it! You're a hoot! Yes, I will definitely let you know what I think of the WALLFLOWER series. Everyone I know that's read it, raves about the books. Lark is completely in love with Sebastian, as are many others that I know. LOL
Yes, no one would have blamed Page had she done away with the father. But hey, that's no worse than what happened in HIGHLAND SOLUTION...the uncle got away scot free with ripping off the h's inheritance, remember?! By the end of the book all I kept thinking about were the h's poor people left under the rule of an such an evil tyrant.
BTW, EB I just submitted a review for Never Seduce a Scot. I thought about you as I was submitting it because the H has a quality that you LOVE--fidelity. The h is believed to be mentally slow--although that's not true--but the H is ordered by the King to marry her in an attempt to halt the feud between their two clans. Neither party is happy of course, but they have no choice. Actually the h is immediately drawn to the H, but her family isn't happy about the match. Anyhow, the H refuses to sleep with her because he thinks she doesn't understand what it means to be a wife and he doesn't want to take advantage of her. Nevertheless, he is determined to remain faithful to his vows. I'm so glad he COULD have relations with her, otherwise he might've exploded. LOL Seriously though, although he's a Scot and big and hunky and sexy, he was never sexually promiscuous. He's right up your alley, I think.

Just went online and got Never Seduce a Scot from Live-Brary. Apparently I'm going through a deaf dumb and blind phase in my reading. Right now I have four books I want to read at once. I'm paralyzed with indecision.
By the way this isn't one of those books where the young, healthy couple that are attracted to each other and are married take forever to have sex is it because that drives me crazy. It's a pet peeve.
I'm going to have a glass of wine and think about what to read next.

So you listened to the series? I've never listened to a book before and don't know if I'd enjoy it. I have my doubts, but my husband listens all the time. He drives a lot for work so listens in the car while driving, and he loves it! Plus EB listened to Amanda Quick's RENDEVOUS and loved it. I may give it a try someday, just to see how it goes.
I listened to books when I worked in real estate because I spent a lot of time in the car. The narrator can make or break it. But I still much prefer to read.

EB, I'm so proud of myself! I just came up with a great craft idea all by myself. Kate, Noreen, I happen to be artistically challenged. LOL However, now that I am teaching a CCD class I'm being called upon almost weekly to find educational activities that keep my 4th graders interested. And that ain't easy!

Hey Kate! No it's not. The h is deaf. She fell from a horse and suffered an injury, but her family doesn't realize she's deaf. They actually think there is something mentally wrong with her. They love her to death and are VERY protective, so they are NOT happy when she is forced to marry their enemy. She has her reasons for allowing them to think she's "touched" rather than letting them know she's deaf. Very soon after they marry, the H figures out the truth. As soon as he does, he hits the sheets with his sexy wif,e after whom he's been lusting since the beginning! LOL I just thought it was sweet that he refused to consummate the marriage when he thought she was "touched." Even his brothers told him to go ahead and sleep with the woman because, physically she appeared to be totally normal, and they realized how much he desired her. Yet, still he refused. He's extremely honorable. This is a favorite of mine. It's the first Maya Banks novel I read.
What other books are you considering? BTW what the heck is Live Brary? Am I spelling that right?

RF I feel for you. I don't have a creative bone in my body and I too have taught CCD and brownies. If you don't keep the little buggers attention they turn on you in a heart beat. Once I was so desperate at the last minute I hired a man with a pony to come over and give a talk about the care and feeding of ponies and give the kids pony rides in the back yard. That kid's loved it but my husband almost divorced me when the bill came. I had to explain to cheapo that education is expensive. Men don't get it sometimes.
CCD is even harder. You have to explain God. And the whole Jesus story doesn't end well. From a 9 year old perspective. I always thought it would be more encouraging for kid's to have more statues of the resurrection and less crosses. But that been an idea that been hard to sell.
I had intended to read Angel of Skye. But that Never Seduce a Scot looks good. I've never read Maya Banks. I have The Reluctant Governess and The Warriors Touch are also at the top of my TBR pile.
Live-Brary.com is the free digital library you access through your own public library. Go to live-brary.com and register using your regular library card. You can get ebooks and audio books. You can also do holds if its not available. You can suggest they get it in if it's not in their catalogue.
Now I know Elizabeth doesn't agree but I would start with The Devil in Winter. Eat dessert first. I did and then read the first two. She's right about the 4th one. Not as good as the first three .

Thanks for the empathy Kate. This is my first time teaching CCD--or anything to kids for that matter--and it has reinforced my belief that I could NOT be a school teacher! LOL I love the little darlings; they are cute, bright, and entertaining, but holding their attention is not the easiest thing. I've quickly learned that an activity that serves to entertain, while simultaneously reinforcing a lesson, is the best way to get through to them, but of course, coming with activities is no easy task--especially for someone like me that's artistically challenged! LOL All I can is, thank God for Pintrest. A few other moms turned me on to it a few days ago. Love it! But, I'm proud to say that I came up with the latest activity all by myself!
I'm predicting that you stayed up all night with SEDUCE! If I'm wrong, I'll eat my hat--I don't wear hats, but I'll find one. LOL BTW keep in mind that you have fourteen days from the day of downloading to read ANGEL. After that, Amazon automatically returns it, whether or not you've read it, or even if you're in the middle of reading it! They are rude like that. LOL But, of course, if I had a choice between SEDUCE and ANGEL, SEDUCE would win hands down.
Thanks for the info re Live-Brary. I'll definitely check it out. I am a member of Los Angeles Library--we lived there for years--and they have a HUGE digital selection. I don't think there's a book that they don't have! It's been great, because it has allowed me to read the more expensive books without having to shell out the big buck. Of course, one can never have too many sources for free books, and very often I have to wait list the more popular books at my library. As you can imagine, with LA's population, the books are very much in demand. I'm not complaining though, because I've never not gotten a book I wanted.
I think I will read DEVIL first. I don't like to read series books back to back. If a book is really, really good, I get attached to the couple and so if I read a subsequent book in which they make an appearance, my attachment to them usually takes away from the new couple. Also, most authors have a level of "sameness" within the books of a series, and I sometimes get bored with it. To avoid all of that, I usually take a break between series book. The only series that I've read back to back, in recent memory, is Terri Brisbin's KNIGHTS OF BRITTANY. OMG! Those books are AWESOME! The titles are; The Mercenary's Bride; The Conqueror's Lady (The Knights of Brittany, #2); and His Enemy's Daughter. If you haven't read those, you might wanna check them out. They are all AMAZING! I read them back to back, but out of order because I had to waitlist a couple at the library. I think I read book 2, then 3, then finally 1. I had to wait the longest to get book 1. Loved them!
GOVERNESS and WARRIOR'S TOUCH; who are the authors of those? I'm always interested in adding to my TBR list. LOL

Ok, so I read HIS PRAIRIE PRINCESS. It was a fairly good read, but the H was a pig farmer of all things and I just couldn't get past that. Add to that the fact that he was actually English and spoke with a British accent, and I couldn't reconcile these facts with the image in my head. When I read westerns I want a sexy, AMERICAN, cowboy who says things like darlin', ma'am, and howdy! That just wasn't happening in that book. Nevertheless, it did make for an entertaining read.

I read His Prairie Princess quite awhile ago. I remember thinking that it wasn't bad but fell short. Maybe it was the pig farmer thing.
The Reluctant Governess is by Maggie Robinson. I've never read her either. It's on Live-brary which also is a 14 day loan. The Warrior's Touch is Michelle Willingham which is hit and miss with me. So far more hits.
Not to worry. You won't have to eat your hat. I was up until 3:30 in the morning. Still have 20% to go.
Elizabeth is right about Westcliff and Lillian they are a good couple. In that book I think I liked the fact that the sisters always had each others back almost as much as the romance. My sisters and I were always tight so it hits the right cord with me. I guess everyone has a different favorite couple in the series.

Haha I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying SEDUCE so much that it kept you up...I'm relieved that I wont have to go out to buy a hat to eat! LOL Only 20% left, huh? It's quite the book isn't it? I've read it cover to cover two or three times and reread favorite parts another couple of times. Loved it! I also loved her In Bed with a Highlander. That was another awesome one, although SEDUCE is still my favorite.
It sounds like you're like me--can read a book in a day to day and a half. Last fall/winter I was reading almost seven books a week! It was crazy. I loved it, but I was also using my reading to hide away from the real world. I've decided to slow it down this fall/winter. The winters are particularly depressing for me. It's only our third one, so I'm still getting used to them. It's hard for someone like me. I lived twelve years in Jamaica, then another 20 in Florida, then California. I'm used to heat and sunshine all year round!
K~ I never had sisters so I am envious. I did like how the two supported the other. It was a shame when Daisy's book came out because it just wasn't as powerful for me as the other's. Even when you read A Wallflower Christmas you can tell the couples she enjoyed writing about the most. If you look at the ratings and compare them it is actually Annabelle's story that is the most popular. How about that because her story was good but come on I would rate the other 2 higher, personally. I like having a little difference with H because than we're not all scrapping for the same ones. LMBO!

Someone asked about the characters in the series of McKinnon's Bride. The h in the 2nd book, Lyon's Gift, is best friends with the sister of McKinnon's wife that commited suicide. I just started the 3rd book and it has characters from both the first and second book. Flea Guy, is being pursued by a girl and his cousin Cammeron is involved in a kidnapping plot. The bad guy is Fitzsimmons, Page's rotten father and he wants Page kidnapped. I'm really hopeful that he will get what is coming to him in this book! I think the girl pursuing Flea Guy is going to end up in love with his best friend which is the brother of the h in the second book. All ties in nicely with bits and pieces of info that you wondered about in the earlier books. I'm thinking she purposely did this to keep us reading the series. I'm honestly intrigued enough to be doing that anyway and am enjoying finding the little bits of info. Kudos to Tanya Anne Crosby on this series!

I know what you mean about linking the books together so your forced to buy each one but I do love when an author keeps you posted about past characters. It is good to know that the book in the series continue to please. I'll have to swing back and catch up. :) BTW if you ever go back on Facebook look me up because there are a ton of author giveaways on there and you can win a ton of things. I didn't see the father wanting her back even if she was his daughter. Why suddenly believe it. That part was thin. He had sons and. Wherever they were. He never liked her. But why she would even consider it for one moment is beyond me.
