In the regions mentioned - where does Scandinavian literature fall under? I believe it comes under Northern Europe but am not sure. Or are we not looking at those countries for this challenge?
According to my list (see the above spoiler), it comes under Western Europe. But I do agree, it would be great for it to have it's own section, but I don't think we have enough space!
Looking at the list, we could combine Central and South America, and then have Scandanavian Literature.

Good question, Srividya! Scandinavian Lit will go with Western European Lit. Southerners like Italy will go there, as well.

Definitely. I'd love for it to have its own category though! Just because it's such a distinct part of literature.
I hear ya! My reading tastes are so much more comfortable in the Northern Hemisphere! Part of me is shouting "What?!? Two months in Africa?? Two months south of Texas?? What about the Swedes and the Chinese???" Lol.
If it doesn't go well this year, we can revisit for 2016. ;-)

We'll remove it, but we can't stop members from using it as part of their criteria for this challenge. However, as you can see, our months are more based around the regions, than the languages. :)
We will however, still allow participants to pick a book based on the language of that region, if they wish to pick their books that way.

See under the cut. It's a rather long list, so didn't want to take up the whole thread with it!

psst, Holly, isn't Mexico still in North America? Maybe not. When I was in school Pluto was still a planet. And for a while when I was looking for books about African history, I was pretty horrified to see that my library had moved Egypt to Europe!
Egypt to Europe? X-p
Mexico is decidedly still part of North America as a Continent. (It's Central America that I still think could go either way.) As we're trying for regions, Mexico seems fine with the Central American countries. Also, Caribbean islands, Haiti, Jamaica, and the DR.

What Renee said. USA and Canada have soooooo much literature between them that Mexico would probably get lost in the shuffle if we went with the whole of North America for only one month.

Lol. Sadly I didn't realize Greenland was part of N. America until I was an adult. (I also get lost on parking lots.)
