Laura I thought I had shelved this book for the future, but now I can't seem to find it. I think the book was going to be released in 2014. I seem to remember that the premise of the book was that it was on a world set sometime in the future but society had reverted to medieval ways due to war/disaster, etc. There was some technology available but not much. It may have been part of a series. I'm also pretty sure that it was young adult and the main character was a teenage girl.

Bianca's suggestion of The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen looks promising. One Goodreads reviewer mentions the book is "set in the future, but had reverted back to medieval times".

Laura Thanks. That is the one. It is on my shelf but when I read the book description it didn't seem right.
